I'm really proud to teach at GMC and to pass you all my knowledge about Classical, Rock and, of course, Metal music. I'm graduated at Italian Music Conservatory and I play all instruments white keys, accordion included! smile.gif

I found GMC thanks to my great friend and GMC guitar instructor Emir Hot, thanks so much to let me know GMC, all the great staff and GMC community. Great thank you to Kristofer, Andrew, Chris at GMC!

Hi Kristofer!

With Emir we had a great concert last year in Croatia (Split), we are going to have together albums and , maybe, some other show...

Chris, regarding Bruce Dickinson...

I worked on his album "Tyranny of Souls" and has been a great experience and awesome time for me! I worked on his album after have recorded 3 albums for the great singer Rob Rock. The producer was the same for both artists: Roy Z. After I recorded 3 albums for Rob Rock, Roy Z called me one day asking: "Hey Mistheria.. can you record for Bruce Dickinson?" ...you can guess my answer.... wink.gif

Yes Kris, I saw the videos... great!

I mean something like that but having me and Emir playing together... on the last concert we arranged one of my song and played sharing parts between keytar and guitar... it was really funny!

Posted by: Bondy Oct 13 2009, 08:56 PM

Also... if someone has some specific lesson topics/arguments (eg. chords, scales, improvvisation, harmony, fingering, ...) to focus on, I can take care of that and "drive" lessons in that direction.. just ask! wink.gif

Hello, thanks! So just in time! wink.gif Yes, anyway for ALL guitarists this should be the main idea to think about keyboard lessons... have the basic practice and fundamentals to play and record what you all guitarists need, such as backing tracks, demo songs, exercising for your practicing and more...

It is really much better than the boring "mouse programming", you can notice the BIG difference once you start to leave the mouse and move on keys... smile.gif

..my approach to the GMC teaching is absolutely in this direction... in fact I started my lesson series "Keyboards4Guitars" since my main goal here is to be useful to guitarist needs and match, as much I can, all guitarist's requests. I hope you all will find me useful on this...

To well match your requests and needs, just write and ask me what you need, I will have the best material to prepare the best lessons for you all!

Hello you Ivan! Thanks for welcoming and for appreciating my playing.
Yes sure, my "Keyboards4Guitars" series started and it is absolutely beginner.. from level 1.
Also the "Masters4All" series started, to learn the greatest classical masterworks... also for beginners.. level 2 smile.gif

Just to inform all GMCers!

At GMC I started two lesson series:
- KEYBOARDS4GUITARS
- MASTERS4ALL

KEYBOARDS4GUITARS Series is the basic learning and practicing about piano and keyboards, starting from level 1. It means, if you dont know nothing about black&white keys, this is your series to start with. Notes, fingering, hands and fingers position, ecc. everything for starting on keyboards.
This series will explore all topics about Piano and Keyboards: scales, chords, arpeggios, two hands playing and synchronization, ...

MASTERS4ALL Series is for who already knows a little about Piano/Keyboards and wants to learn the greatest classical masterworks (Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, ...). This series can follow or be parallel to the KEYBOARDS4GUITARS Series

Hope you will like the above Keyboard Series.. smile.gif

Hello, my lessons here at GMC are generally and especially at the beginning for all keyboards. I am not going, right now, to talk about specific Piano topics or about the best keyboard nowdays available. The purpose of my lessons at GMC is to help and improve all guitarist needs on keyboard and to make them "mouse-programming free", connect your keyboard on computer for making your backing tracks on sequencer, write chords for your exercising and so on... I think this is important for now...

The purpose of my lessons at GMC is to help and improve all guitarist needs on keyboard and to make them "mouse-programming free", connect your keyboard on computer for making your backing tracks on sequencer, write chords for your exercising and so on... I think this is important for now...

thats a very very good idea and would be a tremendous help!
and i know im getting way ahaed of myself but would your lesson have midi files of the piano? cause im not that fluent with score but i have a piano than reads midi and tells me what to press and when so i can learn

Hello, yes I'll have midifiles as well, I think it will be no problem for the GMC staff to provide all of you with midifiles...

Welcome!! I always wanted to learn the Piano. In fact I have a dream to buy a grand piano in life. I used to play in school but not anymore. I would love to get my hands on those keys. smile.gif

and you started playing when I was born.. smile.gif

Welcome Mistheria!

I used to be a keyboard player when I was a child... I roughly started playing keybs when I was 6 years old, but for about 10 years later I switched to electric guitar... I've been playing keyboards rarely since then, but now that GMC has someone to show the path, I may consider restarting from where I left...

See you around laugh.gif

With my question earlier I was more thinking along the lines of: will some of your lessons be with a piano sound? As I don't have any synth, pads etc. on my digital piano. smile.gif

EDIT: I'll just take a look at the frontpage....

Hello, YES of course, for the most all lessons will be on Piano. The two series that I started "Masters4All" and "Keyboards4Guitars" are for Piano, it means Piano sound (acoustic piano, digital piano, keyboard selecting a piano sound patch).

If some "pure" keyboard lesson will be, it will be included in another lesson series.

Also... if someone has some specific lesson topics/arguments (eg. chords, scales, improvvisation, harmony, fingering, ...) to focus on, I can take care of that and "drive" lessons in that direction.. just ask! wink.gif

I'd really like a lesson on Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata".

Posted by: Neurologi Oct 14 2009, 01:59 PM

Just checked out your first lesson here at GMC. That sure was fast! A great start to your new role here as our go-to piano/keys instructor. Well done!

A question/s for you. I know you are really keen for those! wink.gif

I did state earlier that I only have a 25-key MIDI controller keyboard to trigger samples/patches. I am in the market for a fuller range obviously. What would you recommend given your ideas as to what lessons you will cover in future? I prefer a MIDI controller as I would tend to use in a studio recording context rather than live as it affords greater flexibility since I already have outboard sound modules, samples, etc. and don't need onboard sounds - just keys! I have my heart set on another Novation model which comes in flavors of 25, 49 & 61 keys. Could I get by with 49? I would probably save myself the trouble by getting the 61 key right off the bat I reckon?

I wish I got the bigger one to begin with now. I didn't expect I was going to start playing "proper" any time soon though ... that all changed with your arrival on the GMC scene!!! smile.gif

Hello N!

I would recommend you, for a great price/features ratio value, a CME master keyboard/controller (UF series include Wi-Fi MIDI connection - NO MIDI CABLE NEEDED!). You can check here the products list:
http://www.cme-pro.com/en/product-list.php?bc=3

Novation is also great choice!

As for 49 keys.. can be enough for now but maybe and I hope, if you'll get soon great improvements... then you'll need surely a 61keys keyb. I think the 61-standard-keys is good choice for any kind of use: practicing, playing, recording, studio controller (otherwise you have to use a lot the Transpose button/switch).

Hope my suggestion is useful for your choosing... if you have any questions, Im here...

Posted by: Neurologi Oct 14 2009, 03:29 PM

That was really helpful for me. Thank you for your advice. The CME has a few features (especially the solid aluminium construction) that the Novation doesn't but then it works the other way too. Argh. Decisions, decisions.

Yes I know, when there is something to buy, expecially music gear, decision is always hard... anyway, think about the CME Wi-Di feature (wireless midi = no midi cables), it is really great when you work with laptop around and two midi cable less is always better! wink.gif

Hello! I think you mean a master keyboard to connect to your computer that is running some VST instruments, right?
Well... you should have at least a 49-keys, but a 61-keys is highly recommended.
I can suggest you to look at the CME keyboard series for a great price/features ratio .
I own the CME UF70 and UF80, I play on that from pop to metal to classical music.
The UF series include the wireless midi (Wi-Di) to connect keyboard to computer without cables!
Also all the features that you need to record and control your sequencer (sliders, buttons, rec-play commands, ...)
If you are looking for a small and really cheap keyboard the U-Key series (49keys) is also good.
You asked for a "not pricey", here it is... ;-)

Dude this is unbelievable coincidence,
I am gonna move to this new apt starting Jan and guess what ....they have a piano in the apt as a part of fun and games for the residents. Can you believe that coincidence? I hope you make more lessons by Jan so, I can practice on that piano. Once I move in to the new apt, I will post a picture of that piano.
