Love the rain effect, the lead is too high relative to what starts the song, I'd level that out a bit. It sounds like you're struggling a bit with the riffs around 1:44, I'd slow them down and try to nail it faster than you play it in the recording. Careful with the notes you're bending to, some of the bends are out (3:30 area), and take note of that when adding vibrato in places (e.g. 3:53). Interesting composition, I love the contrast at the start. Don't know much about mixing, so I'll leave that to everybody else. Keep us updated on the finished track, sounding good! Thank You. Do you mean the lead before thunder or the lead after harmonized guitars? Yeah, the riffs around 1:44 are a bit difficult, but I'm working on it and bending For the first recorded song and mix, this is great! Of course, there are mistakes, but it is quite normal! When you learn to paying attention to important things, everything will be even better. Most importantly, do not mix never right away after the shooting. For mixing you need a 'rested', fresh ear! Sleep, rest for a couple hours, and then go to do mix! On that way you have a much clearer picture Thank You. I will keep that in mind when I record it again -------------------- Guitar Altamira M01D, Samick Royale 3, Musima Lead Star 1 Effects Boss ME-25 Amp Stagg 40 GA DSP DAW SONAR LE YouTube | Facebook | Last.fm “One day you pick up the guitar and you feel like a great master, and the next day you feel like a fool. Congrats on your first song demo man! I like the composition. I like the rain effect, the acoustic combined with the elctric guitars and the piano. The main thing to improve about it is your playing, but as you clarify that you have to record again without mistakes let's talk about audio...
The acoustic guitar would sound better is you add a bit of treble or presence to the Eq, it sounds a bit darken. I can hear the bass.. did you record a bass guitar or synth? If you did it, you have to add boos frequencies at 1.5 Khz to make it sound clearer. I would improve the snare sample of the drums, maybe something more natural... it sounds too digital. The piano also needs some boos at its high frequencies. However you did an awesome job considering that this is your first song man! Well done!! -------------------- My lessons

Good idea with the rain, sound interesting from the start.
I really like it after the thunder, the beginning should probably be a bit quieter, slowly increasing and build up to that! Overall sounds awesome, some nice playing! -------------------- Play Games Arcade Take a break, Play Games! Play the best free online flash games at Aaron's Game Zone like Bloons Tower Defense 4! |

I think it's great first project, and you did a very good job. Well done, and congratulations
You mentioned recording the guitars again, and I strongly advise that you do so. Remember that one of the biggest studio lies is "we'll fix it in the mix". You need to be able to make proper color and play everything with precise timing, tone and dynamics in order to get a healthy take. The healthier the track, the less you need to shape it, and more natural sounding the mix will be. OK, once you do that, couple of little things to fix, before you put out second version: - lower down the hihat, it's killing - lower down the lead guitar just a tiny bit PS I'm not sure if that is rain I'm hearing in the beginning, but it sounds a bit like noise. Try to insert some other rain loop that has better quality (just a thought).
