Since these topics seems exciting, I am starting another one. In school days, I am not sure if it was Hendrix / Cobain who inspired me but I wanted to try left handed guitar (wanted to be ambidextrous) but we only had an old guitar that used to land from room to another and everyone abusing it. First i tried to play it left handed without changing strings so everybody is happy who ever wants to play guitar. I thought this was how leftys played. But later I saw a cobain poster with strings reverted then took the risk of removing all the string from that acoustic and restring them reverse. I had to make the nut holes bigger as the 6th string wouldn't fit on 1st string nut hole. I tried for couple of days and "hid" the guitar so others won't see the restringed guitar. I could strum chords okay. But then people saw it and started cursing as it was the only guitar in the house and everyone wanted to play.. biggrin.gif That was quite interesting moment. smile.gif

I used a Washburn classical to defend myself 20 years ago and it has a big hole in the back. I don't remember the story thanks to my old friend Jack Daniels, but I keep the guitar around to remind myself of why I don't drink. So, using a guitar as a defensive weapon would have to be my answer.

I took the old acoustic guitar that has fallen and broken off/split the head stock badly - to the regular carpenter to glue it back together. It looked afterward hideous but it somehow worked smile.gif)))

Probably playing "London Bridge is Falling Down" with my whammy bar - I tapped the high strings wth the bar to make the squeaking-sounding song. Sounded pretty crazy. I had to hit the strings in just the right places. I made a lesson for it, but never uploaded it to youtube. tongue.gif

lmao @ stratman79 "This one time at band camp....."

Well I'm a pretty stupid, crazy insane "hyper active" teen...

I've taken up some extreme sports Parkour (Free Running), for those that don't know how crazy it is:

I've backflipped off a friend's house roof (at the stupid age of 13) to land on a trampoline, missed the edge and went "SPLAT" fractured my tibia leg bone. Just required a cast thankfully and learnt how to use crutches (friend's thought it was great and used the crutches more than me).

Riding down a gravel road on a bmx, skidding around a tree into a group of older guys. Crashed into one of them, he was fine. I soon found out I had broken my collarbone, no cast for that one, just a sling.

Nearly drowned playing in my friends swimming pool around the edge underwater, another friend dive bombed in without seeing me. Hit into me, then I hit into the edge of the pool still underwater knocking out my breath and leaving a huge lump on my forehead.

Back on the bmx, went to the dirt tracks and attempted an X-Up Jump (crossing the handling bar when in mid jump). Missed coming all the way back on one of them and fully flipped the bike over the front wheel, bent the axis, and skinned up both hands and side of face, mostly my pinkie finger lost some skin. Didn't feel any pain until late at night after being at A&E, etc, then it was the worst!

So it would come to NO surprised the most craziest thing I've done with the guitar is break one string from whole bending... ahh lame. No I don't smash the guitar over the amp, etc, I actually treat it with a lot more respect than I treat my crazy self!

I was making a short trek of about 3 blocks with my Washburn Dime V in hand to pick up a hardcase from a friend of mine when four guys tried to rob us. Two came after me and were beaten down with the headstock of the flying V, I broke it straight down the center but the two guys on the receiving end of it...Lets just say I did a little cosmetic surgery to them.

I lent my first acoustic guitar to some "buddies" who were going to a bush party. I asked for it the next day and they didn't know where it got to. I went to the party site looking for it and couldn't find it. Looking into the fire pit, I noticed a strange criss _ cross pattern. That was where the frets and
strings settled in the ashes.
I've never lent a guitar out since.
