About 3 or 4 months... what does that have to do with me not thinking he is insanely amazing?

Seems to me, the longer and harder you strive to achieve something, the more you appreciate its value.

I have been playing longer than he has been (~15 years), and I have nowhere near his skills, and I probably never will have. So I can understand why someone who has not been playing all that long may not be impressed, and maybe you can understand why I am. Thats all.

Wow, he's pretty impressive. He seems a bit cocky to title them "Insanely Amazing" though. Not that they aren't great, that's a given, but a little modesty goes a long way.

Edit: Misspelling

Dont get me wrong I think it would take alot of hard work to be able to do what he done but I dont think it sounds good and its deffinitly not insanely amazing. To me music is all about sounding amazing not just moving your hands and fingers round really fast...

Edit:
I think one of the worst things is he labels his videos as being insanely amazing...

I agree with Hungus, what he's playing has no feeling, I would take Stairway to Heaven's solo over this any day.

Of course, he's a great guitarist, that I won't deny. Those videos just show speed, and not much more.

Musical taste is subjective, some people like shred and it hurts other peoples ears. Some people love rap while others...

But isn't Guitarmasterclass about the skill of playing the guitar? I wanted to share this guy with you all because he has great guitar playing skills, not because of his style of music. I kinda thought it would inspire somebody like it has me. smile.gif

You have a point there. I have to apologize if my last comment seemed a bit hostile.

Thanks for sharing though, shows there are more great guitarists out there than one would think.

Im with you all the way on that. And yes he can be inspiring to be as he has many great talents.Im not far behind you on years at 11 myself, and what i look for in a guitarist is something that makes me drop my jaw and say wow only a handfull of people can do that.Thats what im after. At the same time i understand poeple that dont care for shred or speed,i always think better to play slow and accurate than fast and sloppy but man my hats off to the people that play extremly fast and nail it.Thats the guys that give me chill's.You know people can always pick out things on guitarist, this dude is better than me as well but i just think he made a mistake my trying to be too flashy with two hand tapping cause he's better than that .I respect this dude 100% as i do many other style's of music.Im sory but one type of music i do not respect is rap not cause i dont like it but because anybody can steal drum beats and talk over it and ryme.

they guy has amazing technique and some cool songs, but amazing technique doesnt make great music! he songs seem to go off track a bit too much sometimes.

Theres no doubt that guy is a great technician, but a great musician im not so sure about....

Taste has alot to do with it...However if it inspires you thats great.

He seems to fall in the infamous Yngwie catagorie, got great technique, but he gets all cought up in showing off what he can do that the musical part gets neglacted.

I thought the solo was insane and amazing...not insanely amazing... his rhthym parts had some great feel to them...and then the gymnastics routine kicked in. I wouldn't mind playing like that.
