Not because I like EJ so much but because that model has what I consider to be the quintessential 'Strat' elements (neck profile, frets, wood, weight, hardware, etc.). Your best bet is that someone makes a signature model that is put together well and tuned to that players ear. The flip side of that is someone just slaps their name on a squire and they charge you an extra 20%. I saw a video of John Mayer where he explained how he wanted his signature model to be something that was workable the average player. Which is an idea I can get behind. I ended up with Mike Dirnt Signature bass and it is a BEAST. Great feel, great sound, special pickup. If you're looking for a really reasonable p bass, I recommend it. I'm a big Black Crowes fan and they are releasing a Rich Robinson ES335 signature model and I feel compelled to track one down. You are at GuitarMasterClass.net Don't miss today's free lick. I read an interview where he said his fav guitar ever was a Mick Thompson Sig Ibanez and that makes a lot of sense if you look at olas custom axes. They all mimmick the main features of the Mick Thompson Sig Ibanez Reversed headstock, two humbuckers, white binding, ibby style body. Same was true for his Strictly 7 sig as well. Not that I'm nocking it I'm a big fan of ibanez guitars and reversed headstocks. I'm very curious about the neck on the washburn. Just bought it and it's on the way Wanted the fan fret but, just too pricey. The reason I went this route is the shorter scale length on this 8, 26.5. After playing several 30 inch scale 8 strings, I"ve discovered that the string tension really gets in the way of subtle bending and such. Just not a very expressive instrument for me. But other folks love it I'm sure I'm not a fan of the EMG pickups, also. But that's what's in it so that's what I'll work with till I see if she's a keeper Anyone else got a new one on the way or just picked up?
