Which if any "Signature Line" guitars would you guys buy? I'm actually considering two at the moment. A Rusty Cooley 8 string, ,and a George Lynch Kamikaze smile.gif

I really like that 8 string.

My strat is a Richie Sambora signature and it's been a good guitar but it's getting old as I've had it (and beat it) for 15+ years. I would love to have the JP Musicman 7 string.

I would possibly consider an Eric Johnson Strat. Not because I like EJ so much but because that model has what I consider to be the quintessential 'Strat' elements (neck profile, frets, wood, weight, hardware, etc.).

I have an EJ Strat from Fender. Really nice pickups and great wood on the neck and nice hardware. It's like the one on the pic below but a bit more beaten up (the nitro finish)

If I had more money I'd CONSIDER buying a lot of guitars:

Alex Skolnick ESP

Nuno Bettencourt

Paul Gilbert

Ola Englund

Keith Merrow

Jeff Loomis

Merle Haggard

Steve Vai

Last signature I played was a (used-didn't ask what year) Fender SRV, I played a few strats with tevas special pickups but that was the most dynamically sensitive to picking ever. Like if I hit the bridge pickup soft enough and the right pick angle I could get a neck sound, was very crazy smile.gif

Signature stuff is a funny thing to me. Your best bet is that someone makes a signature model that is put together well and tuned to that players ear. The flip side of that is someone just slaps their name on a squire and they charge you an extra 20%.

I saw a video of John Mayer where he explained how he wanted his signature model to be something that was workable the average player. Which is an idea I can get behind.

I ended up with Mike Dirnt Signature bass and it is a BEAST. Great feel, great sound, special pickup. If you're looking for a really reasonable p bass, I recommend it.

I'm a big Black Crowes fan and they are releasing a Rich Robinson ES335 signature model and I feel compelled to track one down. ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

I"m very curious to try the OLA ENGLUND washburn actually. I saw that mentioned above. I read an interview where he said his fav guitar ever was a Mick Thompson Sig Ibanez and that makes a lot of sense if you look at olas custom axes. They all mimmick the main features of the Mick Thompson Sig Ibanez smile.gif Reversed headstock, two humbuckers, white binding, ibby style body. Same was true for his Strictly 7 sig as well. Not that I'm nocking it smile.gif I'm a big fan of ibanez guitars and reversed headstocks. I'm very curious about the neck on the washburn. Let me know if you guys find one to try smile.gif

Yea, that Chris Cornell 335 looks pretty pretty sweet. Wouldn't argue on that one.

Looks like it's going to be the RUSTY COOLEY 8 string for me!! Just bought it and it's on the way smile.gif Wanted the fan fret but, just too pricey. The reason I went this route is the shorter scale length on this 8, 26.5. After playing several 30 inch scale 8 strings, I"ve discovered that the string tension really gets in the way of subtle bending and such. Just not a very expressive instrument for me. But other folks love it I'm sure smile.gif

I'm not a fan of the EMG pickups, also. But that's what's in it so that's what I'll work with till I see if she's a keeper smile.gif Anyone else got a new one on the way or just picked up?
