great post. i don't understand about all the grave sites though. i never took the "sold his soul" bit seriously. what he did obviously, was learn to play the guitar very quickly. and that astonished people.
Not that he just learned it, but that he could play it like no one else before or after him
Robert's stuff is great! Too bad there's so little of it. My favorite song of his is "Terraplane Blues". Really powerful stuff all around! Obviously Robert was the basis for the 80's Ralph Macchio / Steve Vai guitar movie Crossroads.
Eric Clapton did a couple good tribute / cover albums that you guys should check out too.

He represents the type of blues I love the most. Unfortunatly not many plays this kind of blues here. I would love to have a beer in a pub and listen to a guy playing like this, and get a little mellow.
And I can't play like this myself.
Practice Practice Practice!!!
Great. I need to check out more of this earlier stuff.
I got a VHS "How to play blues guitar", and thats sort of in this style. I've never got around to learn any of it, but I need to do it soon!
Yeah it is, some of the best dam guitar playin this side of the universe.!
