Hi GMC,

Your hear a great solo and what to tab it out. But it is way to fast, you need to slow down and loop the track

What kind of tools do you use to slowdown and loop the track without losing the pitch of song?
Do you know a site to download the software for it?

Cheers

Audacity or Reaper is recommended.

I use the stretch function in Nuendo, it's not ideal when you slow it down a lot, but it's OK.

You can do it with Reaper, it has a free 30 days trial period (and if after 30 days you decide that is not for you, simply delete it)

Some great replies! You didn't mention what plaform you are using (Mac/PC), or which DAW you are using? Pro Tools, Nuendo, Logic, Reaper?

In Cubase I have a 'Time Strecth' function. I right click on the audio part and select it.. from there I just make a guess, use the buttons to slect slower etc... I did it once with Fight Fire With Fire by Metallica.. it was the only way I could figure out the correct drumbeat because the accents are in the 'wrong' place and it's sooooooo fast biggrin.gif

VLC Media Player is free and it can actually slow down audio and/or video files without loosing the pitch.
Results are not amazing - but usable! smile.gif

I personally use Cubase DAW and its time stretch function to slow down parts.

Here is a link for the VLC : http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

How much % can you stretch within your DAW?

I have checked with mine and it is 50%

Only 25% with pretty good results and it's unlimited when set as an "effect" but the results are not that good.

I use Cubase 5.
