Hi is this is on the right track ? some errors (bad notes, technics lack, and A BIG FALSE BEND) are always in.... must practice (as said Todd) https://soundcloud.com/maxime-bon-3/test-lesson-minor-3 maybe the nicest solos and themes i have ever done.... i'll do not post anymore for this assignement, cause i cannot monopolise this Topic ! Laurent This is beautiful Laurent!! Your take is so epic and heroic! Congrats on your great playing on this one. The only detail that I would adjust is your tone which is a bit noisy. I would experiment trying to get a similar sustain but with less distortion, maybe using an extra overdrive and lowering your amp's distortion level, or using any kind of compressor or sustainer. Other than that, this is killer, congrats! PS: Keep on sharing stuff here, your work is inspiring for everybody here! My bad on the post on block. The video isn't playing... That's weird, maybe you don't have the right plug in installed. Are you using chrome ? By the way, try this link: https://youtu.be/18Kh2LB7K_E -------------------- My lessons

Thank you for listening Gabriel, i'll try another setup in the futur ! do you listen the 3 other impro i have done with various minor BT ? in fact i choose random minor BT on youtube, listen them one minute to see what happend, and i jam on without training, in a one shoot ! i really love this. Laurent That's an interesting experiment. I checked the 3 audios and my favorite is number 1 which is the one that has he more defined melody. It sounds like a pre composed solo! The second one has many notes out and the third sound sounds good but didn't attacked me as much as the first one. I wonder if you at least checked the chords that the backings included before starting the recording.... -------------------- My lessons

Yes of course, when available ! Not always the case !!! Laurent Having this info can help you to play more connected with the chords when improvising but It's interesting to experiment improvising without knowing it too. -------------------- My lessons

Nice playing mate! I enjoy more your clean solo but I think that it's related to the fact that I still feel that your distorted tone needs some tweak. What are you using to record it? what amp?

Here is my take for assignment#4. Started playing around the arpeggios of the minor chord and then moved around. Was not sure which tone would fit the backing track best so I choose one of the "metal styles" from Guitar Rig.

Hi mate, good job with this. I notice that you are still getting familiar with the scale but focusing on making your lines sound musical. There is still work to do in order to make your phrasing more defined, and I think that the use of more silence between phrases can help. Please keep on practicing and experimenting and share a new take in some days. Here is my take for assignment#4. Started playing around the arpeggios of the minor chord and then moved around. The note choices are going well with the chords from the backing. The next step is to define your phrases even more, and this is related to the note choices but also to rhythm and silences. Imagine that your guitar is a singer, and create more "vocal" style lines while you improvise. Listen to melodic guitarists like Andy Timmons and Joe Satriani to get some ideas about this. Keep on the hard work! This post has been edited by Gabriel Leopardi: Oct 24 2015, 10:28 PM -------------------- My lessons

Thanks for your feedback Gab! I understand what you mean. A lot of notes, no breath, no structure and idea where to go.
I just choose a different A minor track from GMC and here are some ideas. Now I would start to improve my playing about that and add some phrasing... I just wanted to share something where I tried to implement the "call-response" idea. Cheers Tom https://soundcloud.com/user619267345/improassignaminor2-2 This post has been edited by Tom51: Oct 25 2015, 06:53 PM |
