I don't suppose anybody knows a device that enables you to wirelessly trasmit audio to a device that connects to a stereo amplifier? A bluetooth signal or something? You can get bluetooth headphones, so I don't see why it couldn't be do-able.

Reason I ask is I'm finally replacing a notebook of mine, and it'd be nice to play music via the amplifier without having to sit near it. I suppose I could get a ridiculously long cable, but I don't want to do that.

Hmm if your audio reciever has FM , you can get an FM transmitter to send signal and dial its sound on reciever..Should be decent quality and cheap solution.I'm not sure about their range though...
