We wrapped this up recently. I dont think I shared it here already, if I did please disregard.

Ice Queen by Within Temptation. A Dutch Symphonic Metal band.

The drums are midi ran thru an Alesis DM5. The keys are midi into a synth in Cubase.

Everything else is real. I did all the rhythm guitars.

It was used to give our singer something to do as we hunt for a drummer.

Great job man, did you du some dubs for rhythme partitions? Like playing it over 2-3 times? And also I believe you did some tunedowns as your vocalist is alto rather than soprano... Overall great work biggrin.gif

I recorded two rhythm tracks. Our other guitarist did a lead part thats kinda behind those. I think he did just one... I could be wrong there...

Yeah, she took it down a notch. Well, 12 actually. smile.gif She was having a bit of trouble hitting some of the notes. WT does it like this on the acoustic version. We got the idea from that.

Well two rhythme tracks surely widened the record, you did very well biggrin.gif And also tonewise, it is great. Lead track has its flaws but it is great man, you really made these midi tracks sound very thin biggrin.gif

It sounds awesome, guitars are powerful. Just one thing: I think it would sound even better if the voice volume was a bit higher in the mix, her voice is hidden under the wall of guitars sometimes. Beautiful voice too, within temptation is an amazing band, I love their Jane Doe track, would make for an interesting duet smile.gif

Keep rocking Jer

Thanks Fran.

I agree. I didnt mix this one. The vox sure are a low and need a little shine added to them too I think. THey are the focus after all.

You can tell this was mixed by a guitarist.

Just not this guitarist. smile.gif
