I have had a couple or 3 sets of 10-46 strings, left over from when I went to 9-42. Now I am going to try this out, if Hot does it, one should give it a try. That is concerning guitar playing. Not if he likes to rock climb or something like that.

I have this same set on my strat at the moment, I agree, they're great. When I first tried them, it could have been because I was sorely needing new strings for a week or so before I actually changed them, but the different string gauges seemed to almost complement each other and give at least a perceived tighter bottom end and more sparkling high end.

[edit] By the way, I usually use a regular set of 10s, and I quite like the new playability more.

9-46 works for me because it has good bottom thicknes (4th, 5th, 6th string) for riffing and the first 3 strings are thin enough for soloing. With these I can bend from 24th fret to 26th (F#) and it works great with no pain. Also the material of these is really good. They keep sustain for a long time and the grip and tension is just what I need.

There is also Daddario set of hybrid 9-46, so that may be good to try out as well.

I`ve heard many good things about Ernie ball strings, is there something like 10-60 ? I like my current GHS, but I want also to try something other as well.
