I knew you could do it!!! So much of it all comes down to basic foundational bits like placement of the hand and reducing tension. It's very natural for the hand to play tensed up when moving fast, but as you say, it KILLS everything. The hand gets tired to quickly and can't play in a consistent manner for a long period of time. It's something that many players fight with forever. Some players never quite fix it. And sure, it's possible top play stiff and play from the elbow, especially if that's all one can manage. I just don't think it's the most efficient way to play and certainly not the most efficient way to shred so I really try to help students find a different way.

Your hand is really coming along nicely!! Leading to great things smile.gif

Also, reducing "hand wag" when one speeds up is hand. So I'm only using about half of my hand typically as the back half is planted on the bridge. So the wrist is involved, but it's NOT moving the entire hand. That's one of the hardest things to grasp about this approach.

Never think that it is not possible .. the first time it felt very difficult and strange! .. but I have to listen to my teacher!. I practiced and visualized it all day the way Todd has done it for me! .. and on 1 day I came close I think?! .. then it has not to do with talent that I was so convinced of .. just DO it and PERMANENT! .. I thank the great teachers here and I am very happy that i am here ... i should have done years ago .... biggrin.gif tongue.gif
