I rescently bought a PS3 and one game, Kill Zone 2.

In two weeks I'm going for surgery and I will be immobile, at home, for three weeks. I'd appreciate some tips on games that last.
I browsed the game catalogue but most of the RPG's are manga style, which isn't really my style. I've played Oblivion quite a bit on the 360 and if there's somethig like that on the PS3 it's a candidate. Otherwise I enjoy even more games where you form a party of wizards, monks and warriors and head out to solve a quest. I couldn't find one on the PS2 though.

Tips please or I might bore to death during my sick leave! smile.gif

Then try Fall Out 3 if it's available to PS3, a bit old now but maaany hours of fun. It's like a post-apocalyptic Oblivion.
Mass Effect 2 was fun too but it's just 30 - 40 gamehours to complete it.

Hope the surgery goes well.

Or Brutal Legend smile.gif I don't know in what genre to put it. It's sort of fun but I got tired of it pretty quick, not my kind of game. Lot's of metal. Great music and references to metal.

Haha that game looked like too much a parody of itself. But Fall Out 3 lies in the basket now, looks great. I remember playing and enjoying the first game on PC when it came out in the 90's.

How about Assassins Creed 2? Looks like a stealth game where you have to tip toe, I can't bear games like that. Thta "operations something" game on Xbox where you have to hide your way through the entire game. Blah.

Fallout 3 as mentioned above, made by the same developers as Oblivion, in a future world of nuclear devastation.
There's DragonAge too, that's about warriors, mages etc, and you have a main character but also control a party of four.

Mass Effect 2 seems to be 360 and PC only, I played the PC version :/ Can't find it on cdon either.
I liked Assassins Creed and spend some hours in it. I haven't played AC2 but my son says he likes it better than the first AC.

Oh, and yes, I have to check out Dragon Age myself.

The real life eaters are the likes of Warhammer and World of Warcraft, beware though, one day you will wake up and you will have lost the use of your legs and grown a beard without even noticing!

Both true already laugh.gif

I bought the old Warcraft on PC for my oldest kid. But I'm leaving it at that, no "World of..." or he might find himself a new family biggrin.gif

Fallout 3 with all the add ons (Mothership Zeta, Operation: Anchorage, Point Lookout, Broken Steel) will easily be at least 125 hours of continuous game play. I have had the game since it came out (2 years) and just a few days ago I beat the last remaining quest in the game. Now, on top of that, you WILL want to make several character. I have about 5, I mean its just ADDICTIVE.

Another one is Dragon Age: Origins, Another unbelievable addictive game. Much like Fallout 3, with all the add ons its up to about 120+ hours, and has 6 different beginnings depending on the character you make, And about as many endings. Gameplay is a long the lines of old school RPG's like Diablo, and the voice acting is great, and Alistair, one of the characters, Is hilarious.

And one more game....Heavy Rain. The actual story is only about 10 hours but with about 20 different endings and a 100% uninterrupted story line, (Meaning if any one of the 4 main characters die, they are gone, for good, but the story keeps going). I have played through it about 15 times, just to see the endings. The voice acting is the best of any game (Over 90 real actors were used) and the story line is simply the best.

EDIT:

How could I forget, assuming you are up to date with Metal Gear Solid series, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots is also amaaazing.

I don't know if you are into multiplayer FPS games, but I've been playing CoD Modern warfare 2 since january (all multiplayer, just 2h single player), and I've already put 140 hours there laugh.gif, and I never get bored of it. I love team deathmatch FPS games though.
