Uuu how did the PRS replica feel? What kind
tell meee

i knew you were going to ask cosmin , i just knew it, it was amazing dude, incredible for a replica it felt the same, looked the same, the top was gorgeous, the action, the set up, the wrap around was HANDMANDE , i mean made from an actual solid steel (i guess) piece.
it was this guitar in a green flamed top finish:
http://www.prsguitars.com/mccarty58/
all the little curves and thingies were the same , and craziest part is that they are a new company and their prices are very affordable, i'm guessing they will go big if they stick with the quality.
Now i just want my les paul, at some point they made the question, "so what guitar do you want?", of course a les paul

Posted by: Adrian Figallo Aug 6 2011, 07:04 PM
sure cosmin, i will be in their shop on monday so i can take a pic of the PRS for sure, they have like 3 of those in the shop, and i believe they go from $800 to $1000, but the prs is like $3k? that's i think -but im not sure- beautiful mahogany, and top notch tops, but basic electronics and handmade lovely hardware.
I will post pics for sure.

That's awesome dude. good job
I would be really interested to hear about your experiences making the guitar, so please keep us updated!

Are you going to go with a thin neck? Jimmy Page (who you obviously admire) played an early 60's style neck I believe, a 1960 Les Paul. However he still had the neck shaved down even more. Myself, I like fat necks, at least always have so far.
If I were you I would leave the pick guard off, I have 2 with it installed, two without. I think they should just provide the pick guard and leave it up to you do put it on if you want.
Tell them to book match the bottom flame with the top. My Les Paul Traditional is like that, it really looks sharp. I don't think it is actually book matched with the same piece of wood, they just found two pieces of wood where the flame lines really line up nicely, so it looks like it is book matched. Also, tell them that you would like them to select some light weight mahogany, so it does not need to be weight relieved. My 58 Reissue is like that, no weight relief at all, but it still weighs a half lb. less than my Les Paul Traditional, which is weight relieved with the Swiss cheese holes. They can do all that, just tell them I said you were headed for international stardom, and it will be good publicity for them, to take that kind of care in the selection of the wood. At least for any that they give to you for your own use.

Hey dude, thanks for all the advice, i gotta admit i don't have too much experience with les pauls, but i do love how they sound, how they feel and how they look, so why not? but yeah i need advice for sure from a les paul lover (and owner)
I do admire mr jimmy page, he plays i think a 59 or 60 right?, i'm doing for sure a thinner neck, i do like fatties, but i think i need something between my strat (very thin aftermarket neck) and my flying V, that's a fat but no SO fat neck.
But im keeping the pickguard
i like how it looks, and i'm going vintage with the look
I will go and select the top myself if i can, i would love a matching one!
I don't want weight relief, so yeah, i think a light weight mahogany is the way to go, i'm also making a cut away curvy thing for better access, i think the LP from the rush guitar player is like that.
Very excited, and open to feedback!

Vintage... That would be the scrubbed off paint like fender? That looks really cool.
I have an Epi Les Paul and somehow I feel I can't reach the higher frets easily. Probably they were made mainly for blues/rock stuff but soloing is pretty hard in regards to other guitars like Ibanez). Not sure if that can be corrected easily. The other issue I have with LP is the resting right hand section. They are curved out so it kinda hits your on that arm. Fender Strat has them curved in so it rests pretty well. The tone in itself is really warm though.
Oh and I hate those 4 knobs.. I am a minimalist person so just my point of view.
Well it's not going to be THAT vintage
, but i don't want any gloss on the guitar, and yeah it will have better access to the higher frets i think, im actually thinking about that and trying dif guitars on the shop.
I do one the 4 knobs this time, i wanna do kill switch, and i wanna go from full tone to none tone with the switch too

can you take a pic of a PRS replica they made?
Hey dude, yeah i took some pics yesterday from a couple of finished prs, and one being made, the one being made has a beautiful top!
im in love with that top, i might be getting it too, they play like a dream, and the price is right.
That's a custom order they made, mahogany body + pao ferro!!! (neck) + rosewood for the top of the neck.
Abalone inlays
