Hi Dan,
you can also use the search engine in the home page, looking for some simple lessons which fit your tastes. Then you can ask the specific instructor (or openly in the forums) if you have some troubles learning the lesson. As Pedja said, starting also with some improvisation over 12-bar blues is always a good choice because it's quite simple and funny! -------------------- ::: Main Gear ::: Guitars: Washburn N4 Vintage | Washburn N2 | Washburn WI67Pro | Washburn WG-587 | Washburn EA20B Amps: Laney GH50L (head) | Laney GS410 & GS212IE (cabinets) | Rocktron PROGAP Ultra (rack preamp) | Rocktron Velocity 150 (power amp) | Marshall VS230 (combo) FXs: Rocktron Intellifex + custom pedalboard (check my video demo) Other: Shredneck | Intellitouch PT10 tuner Picks: Esseti Picks Software & Recording Gear: Cubase 4 | Overloud TH1 | Mackie Onyx 400F | EZdrummer | Korg Pandora PX4D ------------------------------------------------------- myspace.com/jerryarcidiacono Check out my video lessons and instructor board! |

The way you wrote what you know already gives me the impression you are not familiar with all basic diatonic theory concepts yet, or have not connected them together. It is good however that you are familiar with all these components, this will make the job of connecting them together easier.
The first thing that you must learn about are intervals, chords and diatonic scale modes. This will enable you to fully structure the whole theory knowledge a bit. Check out Andrew's theory lessons: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...?showtopic=3351 and www.musictheory.net site for some theory info. Perhaps you can send us a clip of you playing, so we can comment on what things could be addressed first? -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE
