I bought some new strings yesterday and put them on my les paul. the strings are Dean Markley Blue Steel .010 - .046

Now i have them on and the top 3 strings just seem extremely tight, hard to bend, and they have only gone around the tuning head once. Maybe it is because they are new strings, or because I stringing them wrong or something, but this has never happened before.

The tension in the strings would have to be the same no matter how many times you wound them around the peg if you tuned them correctly so it can't be that ...

It does make a huge difference actually. But yes, you will get used to them. I moved from 9s to 10s and now I prefer thm, I get more control over my bends as they are harder to puch ...

The blue steel strings are also made of stainless steel instead of regular steel which makes them stiffer, less elastic and brighter sounding.
