Hi, I had this idea for a song a long time ago.
I recorded the part I had, but never finished the song.

But tonight I stayed up all night, and tried to put it down as a midi-file with all the intstruments.
Is not perfect, I feel I sort of mixed some Cradle of Filth chorus with an Iron Maiden verse.

Tell me, do the parts go ok together on the midi-version?

There's some excellent melody in your writing Ulrik. It reminds me very much of COF and Maiden, which was what you said.

I personally don't think you need to add any more parts, just concentrate on arranging the parts you have so it sounds more sophisticated. I'm not sure I would have the solo so early on but that's just me.. it would probably sound totally awesome with proper instruments. But I would definitely not add more parts, there's enough variation and interesting music going on already

First off, I don't listen to CoF, so I don't really know about their style.

I love the 'pulsing' at the start, it keeps dragging the tempo back, in a good way. The solo you have early on didn't sound out of place to me, a bit different, but just fine.

In general, it's looking great man! I hope you're proud Be sure to post up the full thing when it's done.

Thank you for your critisism.

I was thinking the first chorus, is part of the intro and without singing,
so that's why I thougt it needed some guitar.

I know it's important to stick to a small number of themes or it will get messy, so maybe it's OK as it is.

Edit (I changed it so there is one more chorus without guitar at the end)
