It just seems to be more expressive somehow. I appreciate anyone with skill of course, but this type of playing has a lot more emotional resonance for me. Thanks for the share!! Here he does an econ lick that reminds me of some of my own econ drills. I can enjoy some Polyphia songs and that style to some extent. Same goes for the tapping style of Ichika Nito, Yvette Young or Sarah Longfield, but especially the clean sound with tapping that everyone was doing for a while got old for me relatively quickly. I can enjoy it from a technical perspective, and I like that people are trying new things and push the boundaries. Maybe it's just my love for the sound of the progressive metal scene in the late 80's and early 90's that shine through. Alex' solo is somewhat more reminiscent of that over the Polyphia style. Still, the clean tapping thing has become a bit too much of a "thing" lately imho. It's refreshing to hear a player like alex He actually reminds me of your playing in many ways.
