I remember stumbling upon Alex maybe 10 years back, and he was always good, but I really enjoyed this solo and I wanted to share it with you people on here:

Yeah! This one appeared in my feed. He is an amazing guitarist, and that's a killer solo. I like the Gambale style sweeps and all those shreddy licks!

I enjoy this style of playing so much more than the polyphia or berried alive type stuff. It just seems to be more expressive somehow. I appreciate anyone with skill of course, but this type of playing has a lot more emotional resonance for me. Thanks for the share!!

Here he does an econ lick that reminds me of some of my own econ drills.

I agree. I can enjoy some Polyphia songs and that style to some extent. Same goes for the tapping style of Ichika Nito, Yvette Young or Sarah Longfield, but especially the clean sound with tapping that everyone was doing for a while got old for me relatively quickly. I can enjoy it from a technical perspective, and I like that people are trying new things and push the boundaries. Maybe it's just my love for the sound of the progressive metal scene in the late 80's and early 90's that shine through. Alex' solo is somewhat more reminiscent of that over the Polyphia style.

Well said!! I couldn't agree more. I'm all for technical prowess and all for good music. Still, the clean tapping thing has become a bit too much of a "thing" lately imho. It's refreshing to hear a player like alex smile.gif He actually reminds me of your playing in many ways.

I remember first seeing him when he was demo-ing the Roland Synth Guitar stuff (GR 55 etc), awesome player and a really nice guy!
