Guitar effects are awesome. As everyone knows, though, there is an absurd number of guitar effects out there. With the great number of different guitarists here, I want to hear from a bunch of different people what their favorite effects are. I know that this is vague, and that there are a great number of different categories and types of effects out there, but I just want to hear everyone's opinion, from pedal effects to rack modules to multi-effects boards. It might help to do something along the lines of "envelope filter - Doctor Q" (that's one of my favorites, just because it sounds funky and you can buy one for $40) to clarify things.
But yeah, there are so many people here, I'd love to get a bunch of opinions on effects under one topic.
Well, if we consider Delay an effect - than that is my favorite one Also i love Chorus for clean playing and harmonizer for some crazy robot-sounding licks
my favorite effect is Delay if its an effect... also i love phaser but only clean.. if not i just like a plain heavy distortion or Overdrive
I like the more subtle effects.. like just a tiny bit of delay on a lead sound. A little goes a long way.
Never bothered much with getting pedals or multifx'es in the past, but i recently got a gt-8.. so i suspect i will start experimenting a bit
my Slash signature wah
I think .. my favorite effect is Delay, because its doing a lot to your sound, a little bit delay can change the sphere of the music
I knowe this is a question for guitarists only...but...reverb,delay..voocoder....for voice off course:)
Delay/Distortion/med room Reverb/Small amount of Chorus
Oh, forgot to mention:
In my rack i've got a Korg SDD-1200 (which is older than time itself), it's supposed to be a delay unit.. but what it does best is give some really unusual siren-sort of sounds. Still havent found any real usage for it, but it's fun to fool around with
Delay or wah, don't make me choose
talkbox... always turns heads..
The effects I use the most: reverb, delay and wah.
hehe, it reminds me a weird situation when a bass player said me that distortion is only an effect... I disagreed but I really didn't know what say, so if we consider distortion an effect it's allways the best one
But now seriously, I like delays for solos but I like also a good compresor/limiter or some reverb
wah for me definitely...
wahh! i think
Just a dash of delay - perfect
I've always wanted a talkbox but never felt like laying down the cash for one. Maybe I'll have to treat myself...
Wah is definitely always something awesome!
Wahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwhawha...
First and foremost Distortion but, probably after that Delay for me.
Delay/reverb, I almost never play with a dry sound. It just adds something for me... I love compressors for most of my sounds, as well, it doesn't make a massive difference in tone, but it's more of a "feel" kind of thing. And, of course, if overdrive/distortion counts, you gotta love them!
Speaking of that, I'm finally getting my first "real" pedal, I should be getting a Robert Keeley modified Tubescreamer soon. I got the TS9DX Flexi-4X2, which is more or less all of their TS mods combined into one pedal. It's got the "Mod Plus", which basically improves on the original Tubescreamer's weaknesses (better bass response, cleans up better, etc.), and the "Baked Mod", which gives you 3 times the saturation, so you can manage some higher gain stuff with it! I've got to be honest, what really sold me on this pedal was when I found out that Steve Vai uses two of these!
the overdrive /delay / chorus the most what i use
I've been diving into the GT-8 these past days and found a fascination for the phaser
distortion, reverb, delay and wah.
i don't have all of them, but i love the sound of them.
well if I had to choose I would choose one and only - the Wah
