I never found any use for the Tone Knob, What is it really there for?? Whats the use of it?

You mean tone knob on el. guitar,not on amp or som?
If it's on guitar,here's the deal. It had purpose in early ages when players had only guitar and not so great amp. When it's on full or 10,you have real tone from pickup. Turning it down you get less high freqs. It was great feature then. Today with lots of gear like pedals,preamps etc this pot loses its purpose but it stays like some witness to the time. well slash from gnr uses his tone knob to create that signature sound on sweet child o mine, i mean he turns it down all the way and uses his neck pickup with full distortion. He does the same thing in velvet revolver's song "Fall to Pieces" off the Libertad album. So imitating slash is a good use for it i guess

If the tone knob isn't doing much get a tech to check the capacitor on it and maybe change it for a different value.
