QUOTE (Marcus Siepen @ Jun 25 2009, 01:19 PM) *
You just didn't care about another golden rule when it comes to playing live... never, and I mean NEVER think about what you are playing, just play!!! Sounds weird? Mabye, but it for sure works. As long as I don't think about the parts of our songs I never have problems, the problems only start as soon as I start to think about what I am actually playing or what I will have to play next. Just trust the autopilot wink.gif ( Well, to be able to do so you will have to properly rehearse before the show of course)

This one is very true. At the last gig i managed to screw up completely on a song that ive played for over a year just because i got a little bit unsure and started thinking "hmm, which part comes next?". But the new song that i had just finished the guitars for 5 days before the gig went perfect.

Sorry for my late answer !, I guess its better late then never smile.gif

I use edirol orchestral vst plugin for strings etc. And then i use hypersonic 2 for leads etc.

Cheers, Harris.

Im a big fan of metallica. But it sounded like they used autotune on the vocals, it made them sound pretty dry and too clean in my opinion. Theres a few cool riffs here and there, but sounded ok overall.

Ive had the same problem before. Im not 100% sure if i remember how i solved it. But since the instrument tracks in guitarpro are assigned to different chanells and effects you will either have to assign them to the chanell you wish to use in cubase and then export the midi. Or you could just copy the notes in the midifile in cubase and paste them on a new midi track. As i said, i cant remember exactly how i did it. But i'll get back to you as soon as ive figured out how. But try that first and see if it works.

some months ago i was really close to sending my guitar in for intonation. But i somehow realized that the tuner in my pod xt had the hertz turned down to 432. After adjusting it to 440 and retuning, it sounded better then ever =)

I tend to do this. I think it gives me stability when doing string-skip stuff and 3 string arpeggios. But im not a pro player and as the others say, its what works for you that matters.

I bought an ENGL Fireball top some week ago. And im really satisfied with it. Sounds really good. When rehearsing with the band it cuts through in a good way so you hear everything you play. Best amp so far for the cash.

Squirrels creep me out. I hate the feeling of being watched by something in a tree while walking through a park. They are evil i tell you.

Well it all depends on how you want it to sound. The tone varies depending on where you pick with your right hand.
The basic idea is to do whatever is necessary to make your playing easier. But its important to sustain a good tone. Other then that, there aren't any rules to follow really smile.gif

Personally i play riffs & chops closer to the neck then i do with the shreds. But thats just a matter of taste of the tone.
