Would anyone mind telling me what Impulses are and what there used with. Are they like Line6 tone patches or something?

Cheers

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

Ahhh.. Thanks Emir! This looks like something worth trying.

Anyone know if this this will work with Reaper? Is it worth messing with if you already use a Line6 POD or Tone Port?

you can import impulses to guitar modelling software like revalver.
It has nothing to do with your DAW

If you load a software amp and bypass it speakersim and insert a impulse you can get better cabinet sound.
Often the sofware amp`s are simple cabsim with som eq tweak, with impulses you can get a very good sound.

You can definetly do this in reaper because i use impulses. I impulse at my PODxt cabs because quite frankly theyre not that good. They metal shop amps are good though but that's pretty much all i use on the PODxt, and some reverb and stuff =] you get some great results

I solely use impulses for reverb - there is a good lexicon impulse which is very close to the original (so I have heard at least - either way it sounds very good to me).

Best of all is that it's free!

I was about to ask the same thing tongue.gif

But it's good that you already asked and Emir already answered.

So next step would be to give a try...
