GMC Forum _ REC _ George Lynch Style Lesson

Original lesson: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/rhythm-guitar/george-lynch-style-lesson/

Here is my very first "Post your Take" video. I've been playing guitar for a little over a year now, so I'm still quite new at it....but since joining GMC last month and becoming a part of Gabriel's army, I'm moving along in a great direction. Thanks again for everyone at GMC for their support.

Hi Rob, considering you've only picked the guitar up again for a year it's very impressive.

You've got a nice tone, some steady vibrato and generally competent technique. Good building blocks !

The only real thing that is counting against you in this take is that your timing isn't always where it should be . There's a few moments in the opening riff where you're in front too much.

Some of the phrasing in the solo is timed differently as well. So that's my only criticism. Technically, you're cooking with good stuff. You just need to tighten up your timing smile.gif

Hi Rob! I'm here just grading, I've already given you feedback at Gab's Army thread. Keep on the hard work! wink.gif

Hi Robbie, this is a very good take! smile.gif This lesson is difficult to play as both rhythm riffing as well as solo phrasing has some tricky timing. Also rhythm section in the intro due to long sustained notes might be tricky to get down and you almost got it. My only comment on this take is that it would need just a bit tighter in timing performance, both for rhythm section and solo section later on. Try to play over the instructor recording to get down all the timing nuances. Your tone is great and technique seems to be well on the way (and amazing for 1 year of playing BTW!). Please practice this one just a bit more and submit another take on it if you can.
