Some of you have noticed lately that I haven't been active within the GMC community. Unfortunately, I'm leaving the community. I've really enjoyed my time here, but it's time for me to move on to bigger and better things. Kris probably won't be happy to hear that I'm actually heading up the development of a USA based Video Lesson and Community website. I've joined up with a local and successful business that is not only a music store, but a recording studio and a lesson facility. They currently only do business "in person" as opposed to "online." Talking with the business owner, we're planning to expand his business physically as well as online to develop a community built for musicians. The instructors involved all have degrees in music composition or music performance and the voice teacher has her PHD. We'll be filming our lessons in our recording studio with professional lighting and video equipment. We will teach lessons on guitar, piano, drums, voice, and recording/mixing. Our physical expansion will involve remodeling to accommodate space specifically designed to be used for filming online lessons. Not only will our website provide lessons, we will also be providing demo's of equipment that we can sell to you straight from our site. You can also ask our repair technicians questions about your gear if it is broken or not working correctly. Above all, the last thing I want to happen is for our website to steal members from the community of GMC, but if you'd like to help us grow this new and great community, we'd love it if you would register and also be active within our website! We will not be stealing content of any kind from this community! Our website and physical remodeling are still in development, but we are moving very quickly. ad removed Thank you GMC for what you've provided for me! It is now time to move on. -Kyle |

Sounds great for a first try! The neck was cracked on the guitar before he sent it...so he was waiting for another one to come in. I'll get it soon. |

I personally have found that software tends to sound less than acceptable to my ears, but I've never tried this program. It's worth giving it a try if you like what you're friends rig sounded like. |

Below the text box there's a Browse and Upload button. Browse your HD for a picture or mp3 and Upload. Put the cursor in the text box where you'd like the attachment to show up and press the drop down list for inserting the attachment. If it ends up in the wrong place, just copy the [] section and paste it wherever in the text box you'd like it to be. aha!....got it thanks |

I've seen several topics where you can put pictures and mp3's in your topic, but i've only found that you can do it at the end of the post. (For instance...putting a picture or mp3 file right here instead of at the bottom) How do you do that? |

Anything below a Roland TD-6 sucks...trust me. The HD-1 like audiopaal mentioned would be ok, but it doesn't have a real kick pedal. This just isn't going to feel anything like a drum kit and I wouldn't recommend it. Here's my suggestion...go find a TD-3 on ebay! TD-3's don't sound incredibly great because the "brain" isn't that feature-rich. But if you buy the kit and decide you like it...you can upgrade the brain to a TD-6 module and it'll sound tons better for not a lot more. To get something good, you're looking at spending at least $800. Yamaha kits don't play as good as Roland kits. |

Sometimes your improvisations will sound simple when you play them alone. Try creating 2 different riffs centered around the same chords/scales and then combine what you liked about each one and make a "super riff". |

d'addario vs slinky vs elixir I've always used elixir strings, but i hear that the other 2 mentioned might help with faster playing. I'm going to pick some of each up soon and try them out. What's your experience with them? |
