I don't really find anything on the site. i mean with syncopated rhythm.
here is an example of what i am talking about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReW9uUYm-DA&NR=1 my request, is for any advice on how to get my brain to be able to do the two things at once, never been able to get it to do that, i would give up, thinking maybe it just is not in me. any advice? (other than "your right, give up"). another example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ot5mHAy6zjs...ted&search= i would like to learn to play this style, but need some help getting past the doing two things at once mental block. If I am reading your question right. you are having a hard time concentrating on finger picking with your right hand while forming chords with your left correct? I think the best thing to do would be to get the right hand part down to the point you barely have to think about what's next, and then do the same with the left seperately. then put them together one left hand chord at a time at a slow tempo until you are able to transition smoothly. The first time you tried picking for example, you had to concentrate on moving the pick the right way, what finger to put where on the left hand, think about the next note, maybe moving up a string on the left hand, then on the right hand to maych it - how does your brain cope with all those things? Practice - now you do it without thinking. So, its just the same with the kind of playing you are talking about. Pick a piece. Play it step by step, slowly until you get it up to speed. The next will be easier, then the next will be easier still.
