Dear all,

A lot of posts are including some very large pictures.

Including pictures in a post is a superb way of showing off gear, illustrating points etc, and is defnately encouraged, however, for everyones sanity, can we make an effort to keep the size of posted pictures down to something reasonable? I am suggetsing 640x480 as a sensible maximum.

If you want to resize your pictures there are many options out there from software like Photoshop to Paintshop Pro, and I have also discovered a free online service that will do it for you as well, here:

http://www.shrinkpictures.com/

If you select the 600 pixel option, your picture will be just about the right size for posting.

The advantage of this is that it will make your posts more enjoyable for everyone to read and you might get better answers to questions smile.gif

I have also added this information to the posting guidelines.

Regards,

Andrew

Picasa is photo managing/editing free ware that is very good for not only resizing, but cropping, and adding many effects and finishes to your photos as well.

http://picasa.google.com/

Very simple to use and it's very light weight in comparison to other heavy duty software pieces like Photoshop. Plus, it's free!

Photobucket has a similar feature to resizing your pics. Once uploaded, you can choose to copy and paste a "Messege board" sized pic, which is just perfect for forums such as the GMC forum.

Regarding this approach I think it's important that everyone gets the big picture... unsure.gif
