Hey guys! I am currently spending my last evening before returning to Bucharest tomorrow, in the mountain house, with my girl and the rest of the creative force in Aria - Cezar and Dan.
We had an incredible time, sitting in the middle of nature and playing acoustic ideas each evening on the porch. The effect of nature on our system is incredible ... While driving between the river cliffs to get to the lake in the image above (where we had an awesome swim!) we were listening to this talented girl called Sarah Jarosz .... This song sends chills down my spine!
Hope to have some stuff to post on the soundcloud for you guys soon, with some acoustic ideas born on the white porch in the Bradetu village in the Carpathian mountains

Writing songs on acoustic in a house in the middle of nowhere surrounded by beautiful scenery. It worked for Led Zeppelin and ABBA !

You don't have to delve too far into things to pick up these little bits of info. A tv documentary here, an article there...

Looks awesome Cosmin! I bet you wrote some great songs there.
And Ben, I think you confessed a while back that you were a huge ABBA fan. Or was that Todd? I think it was the both of you.

What's wrong with ABBA dudes? Very good written pop music - they way it's not done anymore nowadays

Mate, this place is less known than other areas and our country is really rich in natural beauty and the legends associated with all the places! It's amazing what nature can do and how quickly it can be ruined by carelessness ..

Ben, you have a band too man, why not grab the Reckoning dudes and go into a songwriting session - out of what I know, you live in the countryside, right? It seems like the perfect spot!

I'm in the process right now of possibly buying a cabin. Beautiful spot right on the water... cabin needs a bit of work but nothing major. When we first looked at it my first thought was sitting on the porch, looking over the water and playing acoustic

To answer everybody's questions
I have been roaming those woods and mountains since '96 and nothing ever happened to me (considering I was even going in the woods at 3AM in the morning by myself or sleeping right under the stars, with only a fire a couple of friends and some dogs when going fishing)
The river fish can get big, but that is a barrage lake and for instance, in the lake found on the other side of those mountains, called Vidraru - it's one of the biggest barrage lakes in Romania, people are talking about humongous catfish able to swallow a whole sheep. There were divers claiming to have seen these monsters, after which they came out of the water without any delays, being scared they might have trouble with those fish.
So, honestly speaking I wouldn't find it too disturbing to learn that in the Valsan lake - the one we are swimming in, there are big fish. There's a trout farm 25 km downstream, where they have this huge mating trout - or they used to have it. It's incredibly big for a trout, maybe 1 m long and mean looking!

Hey Cos, did you take it seriously We were all obviously joking brother And, that's great, being close to the nature for almost 16 years, its next to impossible to find some peace and any kind of lake or woods or something around Delhi Its so noisy here. I don't know any "Peaceful" woods around

Well joking or not joking, the stuff I told you about is pretty real including the big fish!
I always imagined that in India, there MUST be some secret places where nature surrounds one and offers peace and meditation space. I read about a place high up in the mountains, called the Valley of the Flowers, have you ever been there??

This place exists in India ??? Simply amazing, thanks for sharing man
To be honest, during my travels around the country in my 17 years of life, I have just found two or four places that were "Peaceful" , in the Himalayas, the one I remember well is in North East India, a place called Meghalaya (literally, abode of Clouds) It lived up to its name We were very close to the clouds, one of the best experiences ever
But I've never seen anything like what you've posted.

Everybody is always hyped about the Carpathians and you know what? They are right There are SO MANY stories and incredible places having legends linked to them, that you need a few years of constant roaming to see them all and then there will still be some
There was this site called 'The unseen war' It dealt with the religious and paranormal and with legendary places in Romania. Unfortunately, I can't find it anymore (I hope it's still there somewhere) but anyway, the idea is that it featured a lengthy list of places which are a must for the paranormal/ myth/ legend passionate people.
