What kind of program/s do I need to make my own Backing Tracks... I'm going to my local guitar shop today, mainly to get monitorspeakers, but I've always wanted to make my own backings and since I'm going there I might aswell look some programs, so this is where I need your help....

What i use:

Reaper as my DAW
Addictive drums VSTi
Broomstick bass VSTi
Korg Pandora PX5D for multi-effects and audio interface for recording my guitar.

and i'm going to get a Midi keyboard pretty soon so that i can program the MIDI a little easier.

That does the job well enough for me, Reaper comes with an unlimited trial version, http://reaper.fm/index.php , AD has a demo version http://www.xlnaudio.com/?page=downloads , as does broomstick bass http://www.bornemark.se/bb/downloads.htm.

Hope that gets you up and running a little!

BTW- the easiest way to get started with these is to use the MIDI from a guitar pro file (export->MIDI) load it into reaper, then apply the VSTi to the appropriate tracks- lke AD to the drums track and BB to the bass track and delete the others. Then record your guitar over it and its that simple. After that you can mess around with creating your own BTs within reaper.
