I have been looking at this pedal and have been quite impressed by the sound and the way it integrates real tubes in the digital modeling end of it. It is the same price as the POD XT Live, but the POD is purely digital. What is the better pedal?

Thanks smile.gif

Well I've heard tone comparisons between the PodXt and the Tonelab, and I must say that the Tonelab sounds more "tubey" and natural than the PodXt. Though it doesn't sound like a real tube amp, it still sounds pretty cool smile.gif

I think you can probably get more sounds out of the PodXt than the Tonelab, but if youre looking for that specific sound that the Tonelab offers, then go for it! smile.gif

I'm firmly against digital modelling amp, they are cheap & fast recording solution for expert player, they are evil to students (you will never find your tone, they have no dynamic, practice with this stuff will put you in wrong directions) I'll never suggest to you any digital stuff specially if you are a beginner.
With the same money you can buy a small good amp, used maybe, like a peavey classic 30 an edition blue from hughes and kettner and use software like guitar rig or amplitube to record on pc

Anyway I prefer the tonelab
