Who is this ZakkWylde guy, people? laugh.gif He seems to know everything! You see him in the forums everywhere! Gives advice...what do you NOT know, man? laugh.gif This is indeed a compliment.

Tell you what - I asked myself the same questions and came up with this result: I actually don´t care where he got his knowledge from! laugh.gif
I´m just happy to have him on this board, his advice is always valuable and good enough for me and last but not least: he is German (or lives there) and thus I would be able to pm him in my native language as well tongue.gif

3 Cheers for ZakkWylde!! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

I could use one for live usage, but I wouldn't buy one only to play at home. It's a device that indeed sucks tone, no attenuator can be that transparent. They all work nicely until certain point, because you HAVE to play the amps loud in order to get the tone. Forget the line out option on THD, you can get better results with software modelers these days.

I have and have used a THD for years. It does bleed some treble but that can easily be made up for both on the THD and by changing the EQ on your amp etc. What it is good for is letting you run a tube amp hot so that the valves go in to saturation whilst keeping things down to a workable volume for practice/recording/home. It's not a perfect solution due to the tone bleed but I find it 'good enough' - a better but more expensive solution would be to get a guitar amp isolation box.
