Hello everyone,
it has been 10 years since I last posted here. I wish I could say I now have 10 years of guitar experience but that's sadly not the case. In the past years, I played a bit but no serious practice. I don't think I ever learned a complete GMC lesson at the time I was here. I renewed my subscription this month and already learned 3 beginner lessons. So there is some progress now ![]() I started with the Paradise Lost Lesson and the Metallica made easy by Gabriel. At the moment my main problems are: -Timing (Dotted notes still don't feel natural to me). Also when phrases start on an odd beat like 4+ -Lack of Music theory (Don't know any scales yet beside the a minor pentetonic) -No musical ear The GMC lessons I learned already helped a bit with the first point but timing is still always an issue with more complex phrases. I also looked into learning music theory. This post has been edited by Skalde: Aug 12 2019, 10:08 PM |

Welcome back Skalde, I remember you!
It's good you have identified some specific problem areas. If you take a step back, and let us know what is your biggest wish within music - ie what would you love to be able to do/play some time in the future? |

Gabriel created a thread for me on his instructor's board. I made a post there.
For the near future, I would like to be able to play this lesson until the end of the year: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/rhythm-gu...-rhythm-guitar/ At the moment this seems a bit over my current level, so I am focusing on easier lessons for now. |

Very nice (and super classic!) lesson. I am just about to head towards your REC takes now - but it's very good to know your goals. edit - So watching your playing it struck me that what you need might be something straight and fairly simple - since you say you get lost when there is something more complex happening rhythm wise. Have you tried this kind of lesson? https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Basic-Rock-Rhythm-2/ I think it could help you build a solid pulse foundation, making it much easier to feel where the odd beats are etc |

![]() Regarding your ear, mine isn't too good either, check out my thread HERE and please let people know what you think after a few days ![]() Phil ![]() Thanks for the recommendation this has been quite a frustrating app for me in the last day ![]() Some of these intervals sounds so similar to me. I need more work on this. |

Thanks for the recommendation this has been quite a frustrating app for me in the last day ![]() Some of these intervals sounds so similar to me. I need more work on this. I worked my way up to 100% with the common note set, I'm now on the first section without common notes, ascending minor and major seconds, I can't get more than 80%, it's a great app though ![]() -------------------- MY CURRENT REVISION FOLDER ![]() ![]() SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE ![]() “Success is not obtained overnight.
