I just recently purchased a LINE 6, Spider Valve MKii 212...
Need a ton of help with setting up the best sounds for certain songs/artists but I do not know what half of these settings even mean! My dream would be for each user number to match a song in our set list, and have the A-B-C-D be set to match the changes in the songs.. but I do even know where to begin.. The line 6 site has a very limited collection of downloads for this amp. If you play Grunge/Post-Grunge/Metal and some Classic Rock and are familiar with this series of amps, then I would love to pick your brain. Here are the artists that we play: Stone Temple Pilots Greenday Red Hot Chili Peppers Nirvana Pearl Jam Green Day Beatles U2 Ramones Kiss Metallica Weezer Social Distorion just shoot me an email: [email protected] Thanks, Chuck |

First off get to know each channel and exactly what amp it models. Get to know the effects and how to use the amp. Should be a short learning curve. Then start building your own custom presets based on your familiarity with the songs in your set list combined with your knowledge of the new amp, models, and effects. Try to keep it simple and not build a bank of 20-40 presets. It shouldn't take that many to cover your music. You'll need a few clean channels, and a few crunch and drive channels. Beyond that, they won't sound all that different. This is a very versatile amp you have, and also sounds very good. It's loud and will serve you well. I used to own a Spider Valve 2x12 and it was very reliable. Blew a tube once but that was it. But my advice it to start building your own custom settings and store them. Keep it simple, and ignore the facory presets. They used the same knobs to create them that you will be using to create yours. There's only a few knobs to do it with so it aint rocket science. Congrats on your new amp bro. It rocks! Kinda wish I still had mine. This post has been edited by shatterd: Mar 29 2010, 10:09 PM -------------------- Ibanez RG470AH
