> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Congratulations for Your first REC take smile.gif OVerall effect is quite good but You need to work on precission of the second half - 0:33 and further we can notcie some timming problems. Also I would suggest to work on Your tone - it's too muddy. I had to wear headphones to judge Your playing. You could do 2 things

1. Use less gain - more power from the hand (You play very softly)
2. Add some more treble frequencies or just scoop the middle out in the range from 400 to 2,5 kHz. You can add some wide eq cut in the point of 800 Hz and do some experiments cutting probably about 4db or even more.

This will give more clarity to the tone and more details will be "visible" smile.gif

I would also suggest to go to the main lesson again and analyze every single picking direction that Gabe did. Wrong picking direction or just undefined, not organized picking is one of the very first reasons of lack of precission. It seems like You have some problems to synchronize Your hands.

I would start from this smile.gif Second thing to work on would be the timming but after improving things mentioned above, probably You also improve the timming

Hi Lex! Congrats on your first take! I think that you did a very good job! Darius gave really important tips to improve your take. I think that if you concentrate on adjusting each part, mostly trying to improve the timing you will be mastering this one soon. I also think that your vibrato technique could be more consistent. Use the other finger to help you make your vibrato stronger.

You are definitely on the right track, keep on working hard!

Cheers,

Gab.-

Howdy and welcome to the REC zone!

I think there's nothing more to add here but a warm nudge to practice steadily, from me as well! smile.gif

Keep rocking!
