So, imagine you've got a major birthday coming up and you had no constraints of the cash front...

Who would you get to play - alive, not dead - and where?

For me, I want -

1. Vintage Trouble
2. Jeff Lang
3. #1 and #2 jamming audience requests with the Stones

...and I want it to happen on New Year's Eve at my dead grandparent's house on the South Coast of Sydney. Sun, surf and good rock'n'roll.

What's yours? Why? Post vids!

Original lesson: Pop Rock Solo - Beginner by Stephane Lucarelli

Hi - This is take #2. As directed, I've worked on the bend accuracy and changing the vibrato style to use the rock/blues style, not just the classical approach. On that subject - apart from doing this take more like Stephane's original - why is this important? If they sound the same, what difference does the technique make? In some cases, high E-string for example, it is just easier to use classical vibrato - side to side, not up and down etc. Anyway, I've tried to do this take like Stephane's original and use side to side vibrato where he is using it, (although I notice he does throw in some classical stuff too along the way...). So - here it is! Hope it's a pass! Thanks for watching! :) Z.

Hi -

Bought myself a '52 Vintage re-issue Fender Tele for a my birthday a couple of weeks ago. Great guitar and great tones.

Now though, I've just broken my 5th high E-string in those couple of weeks. I know what you're thinking - "It's the bridge angle" - but no. All of these breaks have been at the 5th - 8th frets when I've been pulling a full tone bend. 4 breaks have been on 10's and 1 on 9's. The 9's were Fender strings, the rest were Ernie Ball coated slinkys.

For the life of me I can't explain why I'm chewing through strings like a mofo. I've never experienced this issue with my LP Std.

I can't see anything sharp on the frets at all.

Any ideas? This is driving me nuts!

Thanks,

Z.

What is it about red-light fever? Recording audio is normally bad enough but two red lights for audio + video??? WTF?! Not perfect, but my wife's threatening divorce if I play this any more times in search of the perfect take. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Original lesson: Staccato Power Chords by Ben Higgins

Well here goes nothing - my first REC take on GMC. Test of my new webcam, (whose frame rate should be higher than this GRRR), my fingers and my ability not to swear on camera. Cheers! :) Z.
