Hey Todd...So I downloaded Reaper.. It's definitely a little different than Cubase. Just to get started, I inserted a new track, and then recorded a quick guitar part...but how do I load my TH2 plug in?

You're gonna have to teach me as if you're talking to a child about this...I'm completely new to the DAW thing...so please make sure your instructions are clear enough for a 6 year old to follow ...(ok...maybe like a 10 yr old...LOL)

One more thing....how about drums? How do I load drums in to this? LOL...dude, I'm sorry, but I'm a total newbie at this...please be patient with me...LOL. I'm gonna head over to youtube to watch some videos.

Rob

Update....I figured out that I needed to put the .dll files in the Reaper file so I could access them...LOL...I've done that...Now I've loaded a drum groove from Superior Drummer....Cool..Now I'm gonna see how to record a guitar and load the TH2 plug in...LOL.

Thanks!!

Rob

Todd, I'm trying to get TH2 to work with Reaper and I keep getting the "not responding" message. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Can you help...

Looks like your digging in! smile.gif I've not seen that error before hmm. I"ll create a reaper project and put th2 in it. Here is a quick vid on how to import TH2 presets! smile.gif

Not only can I not get TH2 to work in Reaper, but the latency is killing me...how do I adjust it? Right now there is a substantial delay.

On a side note, is there a way to save a thread to a location that I can do a single click and it will take me to it? Right now I'm having to click on the forum tab...then instructors...then your name...then find the thread....Any shortcuts for this?

Thanks man...I'm sorry for stupid questions, but I'm totally new to all of this.

Rob

So now I tried to see if I could get the virtual bass to work and it's not working...LOL...I can't catch a break... here is a screen shot of what I've got...I'm not getting any live sound out of it at all...I've got the monitor active...so I think I should be hearing it...but I'm not. Please let me know what I'm doing wrong...I'm certain it's something really stupid, but since I'm new to this, I have zero clue as to what I am doing or need to do. Thanks,

Rob

By the way.....remember that I"m using the midi guitar that you told me about for the bass.

This is going to be a killer thread smile.gif

*Download this project and see if it will open. It has one track. This track is setup to use INPUT FX per the screen grab below.
Attached File  ReaperTest.zip ( 31.84K ) Number of downloads: 66

Try this.
*Make sure you are adding TH2 inside reaper. Launch reaper first then click INPUT FX on the track for your guitar.

*For latency, try reducing the block size. Inside reaper preferences menu.

Let me know if this fixes things smile.gif

*Also, here is a link to a step by step starter process for working with guitar in reaper using only reaper with no additional plugins. Worth a read smile.gif

As for the bass, You mentioned it working before, but now it's stopped? or was it working only in cubase? Also, if your midi setup is working you should be able to plugin a midi keyboard to test it to make sure it's not the guitar controller.

P.S. Do you by chance own a Macintosh of any kind? I spend most of my time in LOGIC and GARAGE BAND (I ran across so many folks in studios using macs that I switched years ago). If not we can work around it and use reaper as it's common to PC and Mac.
