Hello everyone,

I've been thinking for a while about how I could contribute more to GMC, and I came up with an idea that I ran by Kris, to get his approval before going ahead with it.

Basically, as the title suggest, I came up with an idea that I thought could benefit others. Now I'm definitely not Todd, Gabriel or Kris, but I've been a member of this site for nearly 10 years now, and I feel I've learned a bit of this and that, and that I'm now ready to give some of it on to whoever would like my guidance.

So what I basically had in mind was a similar mentoring program to what Gabriel is doing, perhaps with a mix of some Todd stuff. Of course, as said, I'm not Gabriel or Todd, I don't have the same experience, but I'm sure it could be a lot of fun for all involved anyway.

So I'd like to hear if any of you are interested in getting a "student" mentor in me. We can work on practicing techniques, lessons and whatever your heart desires. I'd just like to offer whatever I can to other GMC'ers smile.gif

I know some of you are already working with Todd or Gabriel, and I'm not trying to hijack either's work here, but if you feel like you could benefit from another thread of your own, go ahead and let me know here or in a PM and I will set it up.

Hope this gets some interest smile.gif

This is a great initiative Ben. Let's hope some of the members who maybe find mentors like Gab and Todd intimidating might find you less so because you are a student.

Cheers.

That could be, but they shouldn't consider either of them intimidating though! They're very friendly and I believe they don't bite at all smile.gif

Thanks Ben but my time is full with Gab and Todd and the collabs etc.

I agree people shouldn't be intimidated by them but a lot of beginners are intimidated by instructors, I guess it depends on many things, maybe a narcissistic parent has caused insecurities or they've had other issues in life that moulded them that way.

Cheers buddy.

Great idea! I myself could use a bit of mentoring on your killer Sweep/Arp technique. That last sabbath solo was quite cool. could you combine mentoring with your other thread of licks? So that folks have some to work on even if they don't have a specific question?

No one with a bite yet? smile.gif

You may ask why I'm doing this, and the reason is simply that I want to move slowly into teaching more in 2018, in one way or another, and I thought somehow at GMC could be a good start smile.gif

I'll take some more composition guidance if you're interested biggrin.gif

Fair warning though, full time depression/school causes me to bounce in and out from time to time cool.gif
