So I leave for Mississippi to go to my mother's house...

My apartment door typically stays unlocked (dumb, yes, but...), because no one has done anything to me recently, and I trust my roomies, and they are good guys...but one of them is lying...

Over the weekend, my Ibanez GRG170DX was stolen from me. Amp wasn't taken, but it was unplugged, and now I don't know where it could've possibly gone...after FOUR YEARS of waiting on that damn thing for my birthday...I finally get it and play the poop out of every night, only to have this happen to me.

I am so angry...I don't have another electric nor the money to get one for a really long time. And I don't consider myself stupid for not locking the door (nothing's been stolen before, FOR MONTHS)...but seriously, wtf?...

Well, looks my guitar journey has ended for awhile, guess I'll just stay tuned and brush up on theory. I'm going to go destroy something...grr.

Stolen gear is hell. I'm guessing you had no insurance? Your friends not see anything? All i can say is scan ebay for pics of your guitar. Any distinguishing features and look for adverts around town. Most instruments are sold on when stolen so get on ebay and search. If you find it on there and your pretty certain phone police before deadline of auction.

Ow. That sucks man, stupid people mad.gif

I'm prolly gonna sound weird now, but what about practicing in your head until you get a new guitar/find your old one? It's better than nothing and most scientists swear that this DOES work.

For me, it's actually harder to play in my head than to play the "real thing". Really.

But then, I am more of a bassist now so...

Hope you beat the crap out of the guy if you find out who stole it and get your fingers on him! Okey maybe not that.

Sorry to hear it man, I can't imagine how pissed and angry I would have been if any of my guitars got stolen. You should call the police and report it in my opinion, no matter if you find it on eBay or around in your town or what so ever. It is pretty valuable things, both money wise and for you personal.

Good luck man! Got my fingers crossed for you!

Obviously phone the police also yes but I'd have a look on ebay also for it as a lot of robbers sell guitars on. My friends guitar was stolen and he found his guitar on ebay. The robber had took a picture of it. He phoned the police and ended up getting it back smile.gif

Lol, I would do that I'm that desperate.

Thanks for the support/tips everyone. I'll keep them in mind.

At least I know I got love here! I'll definitely be constructive with this downtime, and I'll be mastering theory.

Once again, thanks.

That totally sucks man, honestly, even if you don't think anything will get stolen, it's good practice to lock you door. Hope you get it back. You say one of your roomates is lying, why do you say that? (You don't have to answer, just curious.)
