I think a great deal of my musical ability came before the internet because I had to do things the hard way. I think I have a much better ear because of that.
Having said that the internet has brought so much knowledge and media to us that everything is available to us and focus is probably the hardest thing to attain, Ooo look a kitten. My technique should be better than it is now, because of the wide range of instruction available to me from all over the world, rather than what is available locally, but it's so hard to stay focused on one thing that I'm struggling with and not move on to something else. If you know how to study and you know 'how' to research things, the internet is a just a big library and music shop.
