Any boxing fans here?? smile.gif Was hoping Alvarez could win but to young, not enough experience. Really wanted to see Mayweather stopped but he's just to good! And he ONLY made 45 million not including payperview draw ohmy.gif

I love boxing but don't keep up with the latest news and bouts really. Of course, there's only one fight that people really want to see Mayweather have.........

I'm really looking forward to the Haye v Fury bout later this month. smile.gif

Mayweathers defensive skills are simply outstanding.I can see him retiring with no defeats. He is to smart of a boxer

I think Haye is going to win as well! Yeah Mayweather is just such a skilled fighter, Alverez should of waited a year longer to fight him, not enough world class experience!

Yes.. at least I'm hoping ! Nothing against Fury but I always like to see big mouths taken down and humbled smile.gif

Man I love watching Mayweather fight! smile.gif I haven't seen a talent such as his for quite some time , I didn't get to watch the fight with Alvarez but I followed it on ESPN on the web, they scored it a shutout with all rounds going to Mayweather, and were quite surprised that one of the judges scored it a draw.
I watched Mayweather's last fight with Guerrero, and his fight with Hatton, and I thought he basically made both of them look like amatuers.
His speed, defense and counterpunching skills are unmatched, not to mention that he is incredibly hard to find and hit. I just don't see anyone beating him. Go Mayweather!
Hey Ben, what fighter are you thinking people want to see face Mayweather? Pacquiao?

That's right.. although I think everyone concurs that it will never happen.

But you're right about Mayweather.. there's no denying the guy is a boxing prodigy

Yeah, sadly the chance for that card has passed but I sure would love to see it! smile.gif

I'm not very into boxing, even I don't know these guys... blink.gif

Posted by: Hajduk Sep 16 2013, 05:29 PM

I wish Alverez had waited to fight a couple years but I won 50 dollars smile.gif said it would go 12 rounds, majority decision. Just a thought, Boxing needs another great heavyweight sorry Klitchkos are boring to watch someone like a MikeTyson would be great for Boxing again.

Totally agree, they've very capable but as always, it gets boring when the same guys dominate for so long. Where are the Tysons, Foremans and Holyfields ?

I think the closest guy in the heavyweight division to those guys is Haye. The fight he had against valuev was superb when he almost knocked him out in the last round I mean he was over 7 foot tall huh.gif
The Klitchkos are just too drilled and organized which makes them boring to watch but they win which is what counts. I'd like to see Haye try against one of them again we need more flair and speed in that division.

Hey Hajduk! I was reading some comments on the bout just before the main event of the Mayweather Alvarez fight, some folks were saying it was one of the best fights they had seen. What did you think?

Hi AK Rich, I really enjoyed the fight, it was one of the better ones, easily as good as the De la Hoya fight but after about the 5th round you knew Mayweathers skill would take it and as usual he seems to get faster as the fight goes on. Slowly started to pick him apart never really putting him in danger but toying with him a bit, really was a good fight and one of the few where Dana White of the UFC didn't compete directly with Boxing because Mayweather draws great on Payperview.

Awesome, yeah I can't wait to see it. But the fight I was asking about was the Garcia - Matthysee bout. From the ESPN chat it sounded like that one got pretty good, especially at the end.

Sorry Ak, my bad, Great fight for Garcia he was in control for most of the fight closed Matthysse left eye then knocked him down in the 11th I think it was.

Hey no worries man , I couldn't remember the names of the fighters in the bout before the main event and had to look it up to remind myself. smile.gif
Thanks for the info, really looking forward to watching those fights even though I already know the outcome.

I'm not a boxing fan by any stretch. I don't see the fascinating thing with it, though I guess I can see why some would. When a good punch goes in I do go: "OOOAAUUUCHH!".

Last time I saw a full boxing match was back in the days of Brian Nielsen.

I can't really remember as was just a kid and it never really interested me that much, but I remember watching Nielsen knocking someone out after like 20 seconds. laugh.gif

I really wish this fight happened when both fighters were at the best. This is the best decision for Mayweather to take on this fight before he retires. If he wins he can retire unbeaten known that he gave the fans the fight that they all wanted. I do believe that Mayweather will win and the fight will go all the way but I really want Pacquiao to win.

I just hope that both fighters don't suffer any injuries that puts the fight off and the fight lives up to expectations smile.gif

Posted by: Hajduk Feb 22 2015, 11:06 AM

About time this fight happened smile.gif I wish it was earlier in their careers but Mayweather I think still looks great.

Posted by: AK Rich Feb 23 2015, 06:19 AM

Yeah, better late than never I guess . I am really looking forward to this bout and I think it should be a really good one. I too think it will go the distance with the win going to Mayweather. I just think he is a brilliant tactical fighter with the best defense in the biz. It is hard for his opponents to even land a solid shot on the guy most of the time and even when it has happened like in the two fights against Maidana he has satisfied me that he can take a good shot and keep going. That being said, anything can happen and Pacquiao still has the power to put Mayweather down I think if he can connect enough.

I just ordered the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight as a birthday present to myself biggrin.gif I can hardly wait. 100 bucks for this one in HD but what the heck right? Come on over and watch the fight! biggrin.gif

Yeah, I have never ordered a PPV boxing match before because I thought the price was always too steep. I think they have been around $70 in the past. This one can be viewed in standard definition for $90, an extra 10 spot for HD. I couldn't pass it up though. Those guys are going to clean up with the payday on this fight! And I wouldn't be surprised if there were a rematch down the road with another huge payout. It must be nice to get a paycheck with 8 figures. blink.gif

That sucks, Its only about £20 over here through Sky TV. Somehow I expected it to be cheaper in the States but that is quite a price difference.
