I'm lucky enough to be friends with a singing teacher. She sings in our church band and is willing to give lessons for free to anyone in the band.

I've sung all my life and whilst I've bought teaching dvds etc. This has been the first time I've had a proper vocal assessment.

The bad news - I've abused my voice somewhat in the past and have some exercises to do to clean up some of the raspiness on my top range.

The Good news - Apparently she is really impressed with my range and how high my voice can get (she had me hitting the C and D above middle C).

Now I've just go to practice and do my exercises daily.
