Original lesson: Alternate Picking Workout #4 by Darius Wave

First of all thanx for choosing my lesson. Let me start from the good things I've noticed. Your hands shaping and position is proper in both cases (right and left hand). Pick grip is solid and most common for many players - that's great to have it done properly at the beginner stage. I also liked the fact that you didn't take away all fingers of your left hand after changing from one note to another. That's a great way to get some good habits for your future playing - especially if you would like to play some fast runs in the future. Keep it that way

From the bad?...nope...not bad...just a little things that would need some tweaking, I would start from timing - In the first half you showed us, you can keep a descent timing. Now you need to learn how to focus and keep it through all the. I believe it's not a technical issue of yours, but just a matter of a little distraction caused by playing the same, slow rhythm through a few minutes long backign track. Second thing is...unwanted noise muting. There is no serious stuff to complain here, but at a few point we can hear unwanted strings disturbing the ones that should sound alone. That's a more complex topic and you can find it in GMC Wiki, but just for this time, the tip woul be to use a top part (tip) of any of your left finger to softly touch the string above the one you play, and....additionally...use bottom of index finger to mute all string below the one you play.

That's basically all. I think that mentioned issues are not at the level that you should be worried about. Just a minor tweaking and you'll be on spot with this one. That's simple lesson, yet still easy to make many essential mistakes,,,that you haven't done Strong take and strong rate from me. Well done!

Hi Rhida, this is very good. Your timing is mostly even, although you can still improve in this area as Darius said but, generally speaking, you performed well in this aspect.

Your hand position is good. As you get better and start working with higher gain levels you might notice that you need to adjust your picking hand in order to provide muting on the lower strings to stop unwanted string noise but for now it's ok.

One little thing I'd mention is that during a descending section you move your index finger to the next note prematurely, which sounds the next note before you pick it. This gives the impression to the listener of two separate notes. Have a listen at the section from 0:45 - 0:53 to see and hear what I mean. If you can, try to save the movement until it's time to actually play the note.

Only minor adjustments to make, very good work overall!
