How is it different from the old white JEM?
That's really a lot of stuff. It's already been said but re-issue of this series really does make the prize for used ones drop quite much.
Regarding used vs new, which would you choose if you were to buy one? In used guitars all of the possible faults probably were discovered and fixed already. On the other hand, you get a year or two of warranty from the shop if you buy a brand new guitar.
Seems pretty identical, the old white Jem had updates/changes during production but this one covers the typical specifications (alter body, edge trem. etc.). Probably a slight change on neck profile, non-steel frets and cap./pots might be expected.
Hard to say if this one will affect the used ones. The white Jem never really was a specific collectors choice but the highest quality build ibanez can offer. On the other hand, aside the cheap ones I didn't read many complains on the indo. guitars on reliability...I guess many would go demo the new one in store then make a check on used price vs condition of old ones. Another thing to be careful of is there have always been fake chinese replica so a study is important before going for used.
