Hey guys, so im looking for a new guitar, and with all the selections out there its hard to know exactly what to buy.

i play alot of lead (or try to wink.gif ) ... i guess you could say i basically just like to play alot of diff. kinds of rock ... but every now i then i ditch all the distortion and like to play real bluesy stuff, so i guess i need a fairly versital guitar. also price is kind of a big deal ... id like to not spend much more than $500 USD. So any help you guys could give me would be greatly apprectiated.

Thanx!!

o right now my gear consists of ...

Greg Bennett Les Paul

Line 6 Spider III 30

Zoom G1X Effects Pedal

Im new to this site so im not exactly positive how things work yet, but here goes anyways.

I have been playing guitar for about 2 years now, but have never had a lesson or any kind of instruction. It has basically been me in front of a computer soaking up as much as i can, and for the most part I feel like I have done pretty well. Im sure there are some very important things I have missed on the way, but I guess at least im making progress.

my alternate picking is shabby, when i build any speed what so ever i sort of have this breakdown and i start hitting strings i shouldnt hit, my pic might get caught on a string, or i cant keep the picking in rythem ....... alllssoo, sometimes my left hand has a hard time staying n sync with my right. id say as soon as i get about maybe 110 or 120 bpm things start to just fall apart.

im not afraid of the work, but its what i need to practice that is the problem. so any advice whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.

thanks so much!!

So i found this site completely by accident, but by the looks of things this is the place to be.

I have been playing guitar for about 2 years, no lessons or any formal instruction what so ever. that being said, i feel like im a little better than i should be at this point in time, but im def. lacking in alot of areas.

navigating though this site is easy but with the massive amount of videos and what not, deciding exactly what to do is sort of a challenge. it doesnt help that while i love to play lead, i feel like if im to be a strong guitarist i need quite a bit of rythem instruction to, which makes it difficult to choose a lesson lol

anyways, glad to be here

Nate
