Machine Heads - Worth Spending A Lot? Options

Hi guys,

The continued saga of my upgrade to an old Les Paul Copy.

As I was taking off the strings I notice one of the machine heads has a missing nut (See photo)

I bet these are darn impossible to replace and I'll need to replace the entire set of machine heads.

If thats the case, do I really need expensive ones? Surely if they hold the srting in tune then thats all I need isn't it?

By the way, anyone know if I can just get the missing not from anywhere? I've tried ebay and all they seem to have are full sets of machine heads.
