wait for it to process

Guide:

Well the video I realized is self Explanitory, but here are the links to the stuff you will need:

Reaper - http://www.reaper.fm/

Guitar Pro - http://www.guitar-pro.com/en/index.php

VSTs - http://www.audiomastermind.com/browse-free...-5886988-1.html

Lame Codec for making MP3s - http://lame.sourceforge.net/

(thanks to Marek Rojewski) Free Guitar Pro like software called Tux Guitar - http://www.tuxguitar.com.ar/

those are the tools you will need.

so let me recap what I say in the video:

Guitar Pro Part:

- write the Midi to the instrument track in guitar pro. Make sure you use the right instrument (IE Piano for Piano tracks) (Drums for Drum Tracks)

once you have the entire song done, SAVE IT! and SAVE OFTEN! then you need to export each track to Midi one by one. you need to delete every track except for the one you want to export, the export, re open the full file (with all the tracks) and repeat. DO NOT SAVE AFTER YOU DELETE TRACKS, do this slowly to avoid mistakes

to make a track Midi, go to File->Export->Midi and name it the instrument it corresponds to, (to stay organized)

Repear part:

Insert -> Virtual Instrument

a window will pop up, click Fx-> Scan for Plugins (this will search your computer for VSTs)

when thats done, open the instrument, then a new track will appear. Then make sure the time is at zero (make sure you click on the start of the track so its set to start at zero)

go to Insert -> Media file -> locate your midi and open it. it will now appear on your track. edit parameters of the VST (eq and what ever you can to make it sound good)

you can oepn many tracks and instruments till you get your track complete.

SAVE OFTEN, don't overload your computer!!!

NOW ONE THING I DID NOT MENTION IN THE GUIDE: HOW TO TURN THE TRACK TO AN MP3

Go to File-> Render -> where it says Wav (i think it says that, there should be a little drop menu where the audio formats are) click Mp3 and it will ask you to find the MP3 codec, at the top i linked you to it, download it, extract it to the main reaper location: C/ program files/ reaper and drop in there.(im not 100% sure if this is how i did it but im pretty sure itll auto detect it.)

enjoy your track!

any questions you can ask here! or PM me!

thanks for reading/watching!!!

SAVE OFTEN!!!

I left you a 5 star. Which is appropriate, when a person puts out some effort to help. Good info there.

Rated it:) Somewhere on the forum one of the instructors wrote some similar tutorial, but without the great video, and we all know that videos are what often makes the difference:) Many many many thanks:)

PS: there is a free guitarpro-like-software - Tux Guitar, and I think it can do more less what GuitarPro does, so those that want to save more cash, they can try it also.

EDIT: I tried to use Tux-Guitar and it worked - You can export the tab to midi and than apply VST on it in Reaper.
