GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Hello~ Incoming Intro

Posted by: Redoubt9000 May 31 2013, 05:50 AM

Hello all! New to the board, and of course to the site - be gentle...

Been playing for well over 10 years now, not much to write home about as far as my git-fiddling skills, but more so than that - I LOVE to agonize over my writing and song mixing! I hope to have some interesting discussions with you all, coming to this site I might actually get serious about this whole guitar playing thing huh.gif

I have the bad habit of listening to the same band for months on end, for now I'm on a bit of a Alestorm kick atm... Pirates and rum make for an entertaining jig tongue.gif and a bit o' guardian whenever I do an LotR marathon... Folk and power metal, that's where it's at smile.gif

Special thanks to Rodovic, otherwise I may never have gotten off my dead bum to seek a serious curriculum on the six stringer
(or four biggrin.gif )

Looking forward to it!

Hello mate! Welcome to GMC! You will find a fun, loving family here, so start exploring the community, practice some lessons, join a collab or upload a REC take in the REC zone. Whatever questions you might have, we are happy to assist and to start with, here's a fine selection of folk/power metal lessons that I think would suit your tastes - the first 9 lessons should keep you busy - watch out for my Pirate metal lesson biggrin.gif

The lack of noob hate is what has actually drawn me to this place - there's a trend for hating in most places, except for GMC smile.gif

Thanks all for the welcome smile.gif

hahah, noob hate tongue.gif Or the lack thereof was why I enjoy the GAM forums as much as I do, I didn't mind repeating w/e could help, especially when it pertained to amp modeling, etc. Otherwise you can point users to stickies or a searchresult all you like, but to otherwise chastise them into it always felt counterproductive - given that they missed it the first time around. Anyways it's nice to join the fold of another helpful community!

Thanks for the earlier links regarding the genre! Looks like I have quite an extensive list building up now smile.gif

Hehe! Take them one at a time, practice slowly and focused and it will get you where you wish to go wink.gif Of course, we will accompany you on your journey, so go ahead and ask away anything you'd wish to know.

The good news is, everyone here is gentle smile.gif There is no "attitude" or anything like that here which is truly awesome smile.gif Many forums are just hostile and tiring and lame. Not so @ GMC!! Folks here are actually helpful and look out for each other. Welcome!!
