Hi Gab

I don’t give much news because I’m always very busy with my house.

Thank for your advices
Level 3 is not suitable because despite my hard work you are found many mistakes

My new Work

Jamaica Rock
String Skipping Study

I try to relax because I understood what Kris said about playing a little behind the time but it’s very difficult and I think it will take me many more years to succeed this.

Have a nice day

Hi MisterM! Thanks for the update! smile.gif

Please remember that we only mark the things that need work, there are always many positive and strong points in your takes. The levels are here just for guiding students but these are really subjective.

Nice MisterM! Both takes are really good! I think that I prefer the second take because the tone is tastier (at least for me) and for any reason I think that your playing is groovier.

What are your thoughts? Which one do you like more?

Hi Gab,

I agree with you.
I feel better with the second preset.

The first preset is a test to look like Jonathan’s.
I can’t get this compression despite my settings.

I’ll do the video with the second preset.

yeah! Jonathan's tone is always very enjoyable! I remember that he used Boss GT8 to record his lessons. Great sound!

Hi MisterM! This sounds very good!! Your tone is very close to the original lesson and your playing is very precise. I can see that you've been working very hard! There are just a few very small details here and there, but nothing serious.

Congrats!!!

Hi MisterM! How are you?

The tone sounds good but I would tweak drive and EQ balance a bit. I feel that your playing would sound much more dynamics if you lower the drive level. Check out the original lesson and see how the quantity of drive make it sound more dynamic, and enjoyable.

If we compare EQ, I also notice that Jonathan added a bit more presence and it sounds suitable to my ears. In some sense, the guitar finds its own place in the mix with that EQ balance.

Check it out:
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Jamaica-Rock/

Your playing is really good!

Hi Gab

Here is a video of my work after 45 or maybe 55 days.
There’s still a long way to go.... What do you think about it?

I have a problem with my nails like every year at the end of the summer.
This is related to psoriasis... my nails break down and it’s pretty painful when I play....
I’m not worried, it’ll push back in a few weeks

PS : I love yout last modern licks lesson wub.gif

I'm sorry to hear about your nails issue. Was (the pain) it happening in this video?

Your take on this lesson is very good. The main element to improve here is groove. I notice it when you play the rhythm but also during the solo section. Your technique is clean and clear and everything is very precise. You just need to focus on it and we can consider this lesson done.

PS : I love yout last modern licks lesson.

Nice to know it! Thanks my friend. I hope to find your take soon. smile.gif

Hi Gab

THX for feedback
About may hand : No, I don’t hurt my left hand.
This concerns especially the right hand, I can't play hybrid picking for the moment.

psoriasis also gives me arthritis mad.gif
the rheumatologist tells me that the guitar is very good for psoriatic arthritis,
the left hand goes well because it is in motion every day

over all , Groove is my problem since always, the task isn't simple but I will focus on it

Oh I'm sorry mate, but it's really nice to know that guitar is helping with this problem. smile.gif

I know that Groove usually is the last element that you master from lessons but I've seen you playing with GREAT groove previously so you can do it. You just need to focus on it during your practice sessions once you feel comfortable with the lesson.

Maybe you could add some type of rhythm practice routine before you start practicing the lessons. It could be the first thing of your guitar day.

For example:

Hi MisterM! This is a great lesson for you. I think that your technique and movement all ok here. You just need to continue practicing to get more familiar with the picking and legato patterns, so you can play this with your hands more relaxed and get more precise timing. This is on the right track, but please keep it in your daily practice.

Cheers!

Cool mate!! This video is very promising!! If possible, try to relax a bit more your left hand while playing. I feel that some legato exercise could be good for your left hand.
