I am just glad that he didnt have any live munitions, it could have gotten really out of control. Heck if he had live rounds they would have to get the military involved. Maybe an Apache to take the tank out and hope for no human collateral damage.

I'ts not possible to drive and fire the tanks cannon if you're a single person. He would have to stop the tank and get behind the cannon and that's when they would have gotten him hopefully.

I ask myself why they didn't get an anti tank chopper or simply another tank to stop this one from moving

Absolutely. He was trying to cross the median into oncoming traffic. Imagine how many people driving at him he would have killed.
