Multieffects Or Single Pedal?

I'd like to be able to play some covers of some songs, but I need to know if I could probably get the same sound that I could get with the Pod with just the single pedal. Thanks I would guess, that it depends on what type of sounds you are looking for. If you are only needing distortion, than the single pedal will be fine. Yeah, I guess if I was just doing covers metal bands, that would work, 'cause my amp does have a good clean channel that sounds "chorusy" enough. Analog is always going to work and sound better, in my opinion, but having one of these save a lot of money and space... If you're only going to use a few effects, for example, just distortion/overdrive, reverb, delay, chorus, that kind of thing, you're probably better off just getting a few pedals. The tones produced from my favorite artists are built off of several individual effects pedals and one or more amps at once. Multi-effects are GREAT for discovering your sound, but taking it to the professional level often requires tone specific gear. Ask anyone that has used a vintage analog Chorus pedal versus the digital chorus built into a multi-effects processor. 99% of the time they don't even compare. If you are after a selection of specific sounds, go for the individual units. I've replaced my Pod Live XT with a handful of specific effect units and won't go back to the Pod now. I also found that the Pod was a lot more work than it should have been, with a lot of effort going into finding (downloading often enough) tons of patch files before I found what I was looking for. Nov 12 2007, 12:26 AM	GMC:er Posts: 19 Joined: 1-November 07 From: Caracas	to buy a multiefex or any efex proccesor, the important is know the multiefex or single pedal, there is a profesional guitars that they use single pedals, but the amp it is an amplifier of high quality, and the whole accompaniment is also of high quality, if you have a good amp, I thing that you can buy a single pedal, mainly if it is distortion, I like the Boss DS-1, and the processor of effects they send strong sign, and some amp they don't resist that sign and they saturate is the case for GT model.
