I’m just writing to say that I am going to leave the GMC forum. I’ve really enjoyed my time here and I think it’s a great place to learn the guitar. My musical goals have changed though. Now I don’t especially want to be a great guitarist. I want to focus my time on composition.

I think the GMC forum is a great place for learning the guitar, and just to chat, but I find it a bit of a distraction, and a bit creativity smothering for learning about composition. I am going to keep my subscription running and still carry on my duties on my Wiki Portals, as I’m still going to learn new things on instruments to help me compose. I’m just not going to focus on technique on the guitar anymore, and I'm going to spend a lot longer on my keyboard.

This also means I’ll be quitting the MTP, and I’d like to say to Pedja, that I think his mentoring has been of a very high standard, and I hope another student can get his excellent tuition now.

Anyway, I’d like to thank Kris, Pedja, all the instructors, and everyone here who has helped me, for everything I’ve learnt while I’ve been here, and I wish everyone well with their future projects.

Here's the original lesson. http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Triads..._Series_Part_1/

I used an Ibanez GRG170DX with a Line6 PODxt.

Edit: Sorry for forgetting the poll, I only remembered when the topic had been taken off the REC board and then it was too late.

A while ago I learnt the into tapping part to Building the Church by Steve Vai, but I only got it to 70bpm (full speed is 95). Today though I tried it again, and I could play it at 80, and very nearly at 95, and I'm pretty sure I can get it there.

My problem though is I can't keep it up, I can only play it for one bar (it repeats for 8 bars). I'm posting here to ask if there is a specific way I should practice it to be able to play it for longer. My idea now to practice it is too put the speed down to around 50, and practice with 8 repetitions, and gradually speed it up, but I'm wondering if this is the best way to go about it. Anyway, any advice you have would be very much appreciated. smile.gif

Hey Muris, I was wondering if you could post the backing for your "Mixolydian Soloing lesson.
